In an interview with IGN, Jaimie Alexander talks about Thor: The Dark World and its recently released trailer. One of the most noticeable scenes in the teaser was when Lady Sif appeared with a seemingly jealous face, likely towards Jane Foster's (Natalie Portman) visiting Asgard and her relationship with Thor (Chris Hemsworth). Here, Alexander explains Sif's view as Jane being a threat not only in a love triangle way, but towards Asgard period. She also discusses the sequel's darker tone, the Game Of Thrones influence that director Alan Taylor brought, and teases more from the Warriors Three. Finally, Alexander once again shares her thoughts on possibly playing Wonder Woman for Warner Bros./DC Entertainment, and what needs to be done to get the character right.

On Lady Sif's Feelings Toward Jane In Thor: The Dark World:
"Well, I think that everyone can tell from the trailer that Jane comes to Asgard, which could pose a threat. You know, we’re bringing someone from another realm into our realm who technically shouldn’t be able to survive there. So I think she’s really, more than seeing Jane as a threat to somebody that she loves in a love triangle way, it’s more that Jane could be a threat to her people. And Sif is very protective of her fellow Asgardians and the throne and that sort of thing, so she’s quite wary of Jane. But also, she really, really loves Thor -- as a comrade, as a warrior and as the future king of Asgard -- but also as a man. So I think it’s very hard for her to see that he still has feelings for this other person. But you really get to see how much she loves him because she does end up sacrificing a lot. It’s a great part this time around. It was a lot of fun, and you get to see a more vulnerable side of Sif. You also get to see more of Asgard, the daily life in Asgard and the Warriors [Three] and where they come from, things like that. It’s going to be a lot of fun."

On The Sequel's Tone And Game Of Thrones Influences:
"
Yeah, definitely. Alan brought his own style to the film, which is great. It was up to us as actors to try and keep some continuity to it as well, because we’ve played these characters before. So that’ll still be there, but it’s definitely got a darker feel. I think people are going to like it. Again, I guess people are going to love or hate it, but I do think they’re going to enjoy it. It’s different, but all the characters are still the same. It’s not going to be too farfetched, and I really don’t think it’s going to feel like two separate franchises, just two separate films. I’m hoping that it smoothly crosses the first into the second. But yeah, those battle sequences he shot, he had so many great ideas, and the shots that he got were so great. It’s just really fun working with somebody who’s so excited and so passionate, because we had that on the first movie with Kenneth Branagh. So our hope for this one was that Alan was going to be a nice guy and collaborative, and he was all of those things and more. He was a really great person to work with."

On Whether Or Not She'd Be Interested In Playing Wonder Woman:
"You know, I’m very aware of that, and yeah, it is extremely flattering, because I really did love that character growing up. I think that if there was the right script and the right timing, like I’ve said before in interviews, it’d be nice to see Wonder Woman done sort of like The Bourne Identity or something a little bit more masculine and a bit more tough, because really all we’ve seen thus far is her running around in hot pants and big, huge boobs and not really doing much. And I’m talking about film and television, I’m not talking about the comic books, because actually in the comic books -- especially Allan Heinberg’s version -- she’s pretty badass! She works for the CIA, she’s incredible. But, you know, if something was done a little bit more classy and it had a lot more strength to it, I would consider it. There’s nothing I wouldn’t consider. Of course, I am Lady Sif in a Marvel franchise, and that may not work out, for me to play Wonder Woman, but I am absolutely flattered that people want me to play her because I’ve always loved her since I was a kid."

Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Jaimie Alexander and Anthony Hopkins. The film is set to hit theaters November 8th.

I think she means she wouldn't want it to be like the Charlie's Angels remakes with a theme song that's chorus is,"Won-deeeerrrr Wooo-man." Armor and not corsets.

This gorgeous lady would make a great WW! Jennifer Lawrence, Evangeline Lilly, Lynn Collins, Rhona Mitra(maybe too old)and Gina Carano all could as well!

She'd be nuts not to jump at the chance to play WW regardless of being Lady Sif. (Unless legally somehow she can't). WW is 10 times the character Sif is. 1/3rd of the DC Trinity? No comparison.

I don't think she has the acting chops to play Wonder Woman. For me you need an actress with great screen presence and a great range, otherwise Wonder Woman will just look ridiculous on screen.

When she says Bourne style I think she means in the focus on showing her being a badass. The Bourne movies are all about him being a fish out of water, but he can stick kick ass, that's actually a pretty good translation in my opinion.

I can see her or Lynn Collins playing WW.
But I'm a bit partial to Gemma Arterton for the role.

Jaimie Alexander is not ugly. If she's ugly, Amy Adams is a camel's ass. And stp bringing up that terrible actress, Gina Carano. If you want chemistry with Cavill, get Natalie Dormer. But mentioning Gina Carano, it makes you sound ignorant.
ParisSun
ParisSun - 4/26/2013, 2:47 PM
I love Gemma as well but she may be overexposed at this point. I don't think you need someone that well known to play Wonder Woman. Lynn Collins is lovely but may be too old for the role. At least Gemma and Jaimie are still in their twenties. Natilie Dormer is 31 and would work. By the time a WW movie comes out, Collins would be 40.

Now that I think about it, maybe someone who is 25 or younger is needed. At the rate DC/WB moves.

Jamie Alexander is hot and she can act. Gina carano can't act for shit.

Intruder is pretty much spot on with Jaime Alexander. She lost her spot for WW when she signed the dotted line back 2010 for thor. Both companies are set on making superhero movies that don't have actors crossing the genre. I think it's for the best. Some other lucky lady will get the role of a life time.

@mystery and @levi - Ryan Reynolds shouldn't have been GL in the first place. Bad choice by WB. He anything he should of been Flash. But they [frick]ed that up for Reynolds, and he is not the first. Remember halle berry? X-men and catwomen? Did catwomen really needed to be made before WW?
