MTV caught up with Thor director Kenneth Branagh at the Golden Globes Awards last night and here is what he had to say:

"We just started last week and so far, so good," Branagh told MTV News.
"We have many miles to go and promises to keep, but so far, so good," he added.

"Everybody's doing very good work and just a lot of it is so promising," he said. "Fingers crossed for everybody and everything. [Hemsworth] is a great guy."

Ozy: I have to admit he is the perfect director for Thor!

Great find OZY! :)

Now that they've started work on the movie, I cant wait until the first lot of images start getting released! I've pretty much given up on ever getting any Captain America casting news, lol, so now I'll be happy just to get some set pictures of Asgard or something! :D

I have a feeling that we'll have to probably wait until Comic-Con for any big news or footage though, similar to what they did with Iron Man 2 last year!

I can't wait to see some costume pics or set shots. Hopefully Thor will be on the same level as Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk were! :)

I'm not even a Thor fan and I'm into this sh*t, because of the tie in to Avengers.

@Runefyst
Hopefully Thor will be in a much higher level than Iron Man or Incredible Hulk because by Odin's might, Thor will fight! to win box office sales!

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay,
No offence but this is really non-news. He didn't say anything that would validate as true. Of course he would publicly say these things are good. He's still an employee/contractor that has to impress his employer/client. He wouldn't dare say anything that is negative or revealing that hasn't first been agreed to by Marvel. Its early yet with nothing to report.

Agreed Phin
So far so good and it's promising

I don't believe I have learned anything new. Do we have to post everything that someone remotely related to a CBM said?

This just in:
Jon Favreau's cousin said Jon likes whiskey. Maybe its a Demon in a Bottle connection, hmmm.

Not a knock against you Ozy, just a general statement of opinion.

CBM: Please create a "comic tab" so that the comic news don't screw with the film reviews!

@Shaman:
totally agree!

@Danny:
i actually thought that Othello was Branagh's best film to date. i have been wanting to see Hamlet though so my opinion might change.
but you have to admit, only Kenneth Branagh could have portrayed a character as awesome as Iago on screen!

The only thing I got out of that is the article the other day theorizing that Hemsworth would play Cap and someone else would take the Thor role was way off base.

Two things I predict about this movie. The opening music will be Thunder Struck by AC/DC kind of like the opening music for Iron-Man was Iron-Man by Black Sabbath.

And that Thor will speak Elizabethan English because Branagh is a fan of Shakespeare. He did Much Ado About Nothing and Hamlet both of which were great movies and as a kid got me to like Shakespeare. I think that might have attracted him to direct it. Also another connection to a Shakespeare movie would be Anthony Hopkins he did the movie Titus.

Possibly Thunderstruck. AC/DC was definitely used in IM. But the main theme was Black Sabbath's Iron Man. So I think the possibilities of using KISS' God of Thunder runs in equal likelihood since the movies were not stuck on any one performer.

The Thor movie has to be big, epic, and on a grand scale, something like Gladiator and Troy.

Of all the Marvel movies this is the one that should have the most scope, it should really be an all out action packed, mind blowing galaxy spanning adventure! Asgard should really be something to see, the Frost Giants, Loki, the Warriors three, Odin, I mean this movie should be spectacular!!

This is the one where Marvel has to really bring it!
