SuperHeroHype have posted some more detailed information about the Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor footage that was shown at CinemaCon yesterday, but perhaps most interesting was what they revealed about Jeremy Renner's cameo as Hawkeye. It's also interesting to note that Marvel Studios are continuing to hint at Wakanda, perhaps making a solo Black Panther movie all the more likely! To read the full report, head on over to the site by clicking the link below.

Jeremy Renner DOES appear in Thor, not in costume as Hawkeye, but as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with a bow and arrow working for Clark Gregg's Agent Coulsen.

Coulsen looks on and orders a special agent into a crane high above the scene where it's revealed to be Renner, and he pulls out his bow and arrow and takes aim waiting for Coulsen's orders.

It's not like he walks on screen and someone says, "Thor, meet Clint Barton aka Hawkeye," or anything.

After fighting his way through many men, Thor finally gets to the hammer in the ground and he tries to pull it out and fails, realizing that his father has indeed removed his power to wield it.

We get to see some of the camaraderie between Rogers and Stark, who plays a fairly major role in the creation of Captain America. Stark walks Rogers through his lab showing him prototypes for a shield he can use in battle - we even briefly see the cool '40s style shield Cap used to carry before it was replaced with the circular shield.

Rogers picks up a shiny metal round shield and Stark tells him that it's a prototype made out of vibranium, a rare metal that is impervious to anything, and when Peggy walks in, Cap asks her what she thinks and as in the trailer, she picks up a gun and shoots at him then comments, "It works."

With an all star cast which includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Thor is set to be released in the UK on April 29 and shortly after in the US on May 6.

Starring Chris Evans as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips, Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Captain America: The First Avenger will be released in 3D on July 22.

anyway, i'm sure that in the Avengers Hawkeye will have some form of costume, whether its his 616 verion or ultimate version. You can pretty much count on it being his Ultimate costume though, considering that purple spandex would look a little ridiculous on screen.

but everyone else has a costume so far, so you know Hawkeye will have one. Maybe not in Thor, but...

I'm not worried about Hawkeye's movie costume.

As long as there's SOME purple somewhere I'll be happy.

All the people that have seen the footage of thor seem to agree on the fact that Hemsworth is pretty good in his role.

bummer about no costume for Hawkeye, but probably wasn't ready. still very organic and natural cameo.......sounds like Marvel is getting more savvy with how they incorporate things, which is a GREAT sign as Avengers filming is here.

man, such an incredible time to be a CBM fan. Excelsior!

(ooo, that was cheesy. apologies)

Rodimus, vibranium is a strange metal that is native to the advanced African nation of Wakanda. The super hero Black Panther is Wakanda's king.

In it's natural state vibranium absorbs various forms of energy. It can reach a saturation point in which it explodes, but through experimentation various parties have found a way of making it more stable.

The unusual properties of Cap's shield are in place in part because of the vibranium component in the alloy.

I would rather have Giant-Man in this movie rather than Hawkeye.

Well we know Hawkeye has a costume for Avengers it's just not purple. Disney let slip a concept of it before taking it off their site so I assume it should be legit. He has no mask and is a red suit.

Exactly the same as the script except we have him in a suit and with a bow and arrow. Better than tactical gear and a sniper rifle!

@superman5000. Well I'd prefer the original costume but at least he is in the movie with a changed costume as opposed to not at all... Antman and Wasp....

I'm hoping for a tease at the end of the Avengers. Maybe a cut of Wakanda and we see the back of the Panther with one of his assistants talking to him about what's happening with what just happened during the Avengers movie and that "Everything is in order but threats are rising in the world." Then we get a Panther movie. Then he gets in on Avengers 2. It could happen. Couldn't it?
