"We went through so many possibilities for how the story might go, that of course the prospect of that is very tantalizing and fascinating. You know as well as I do, there’s a passionate fan base out there that will say what they think. People will vote with their feet. And because it’s such a big chunk of change for everybody involved, I think that’s going to have a crucial, crucial impact."

"It would be a lovely challenge and problem to have should we do a second one. When I first got involved with this, I was so thrilled. The first big, really exciting moment when I started really going through the comic books was all the descriptions of powers. I loved it. Amazing. People’s body weights, how tall they were, what they could do. All of that kind of stuff. There’s a vast amount of that from the Thor universe that I’d like to see."

After seeing the film, I really want to see Branagh directing the second one. He did an amazing job with the first film. THOR hits US theatres tomorrow, so be sure to check it out!

I think they need to hold off on Beta Ray Bill for a while.. Thor doesn't need his own personal War Machine yet, there's still so much of the universe to explore. Balder would be great, I'm actually surprised he isn't in the first one. I think Enchantress would be a shoe in for the sequel, but she's very similar to Loki, and it's hard to take her character past being a jealous witch (at least in my oppinion). Surtur would be sweet. Maybe the Wrecking Crew? That would be different for sure.

I love how into the whole thing Branagh is. You'd think that a high profile director like him would be snobby and pretentious about the whole thing but he genuinely seems passionate, excited and happy about Thor and the fandom! He really seems to enjoy the whole thing. He's such a great guy. I watched the movie yesterday evening and it was awesome, he did an amazing job.

the destroyer was built by odin to protect us all from the celestials.

odin, zeus & all the other earth gods gave a portion of their power to the destroyer,so he could fight the celestials.

Branagh = Best director for a CBM. Well... hard to compare against Nolan. He would still get my vote.

The sequel should be set entirely in Asgard as anything set on Earth would certainly involve the Avengers.

Celestials would be a little too much, definitely Beta Ray Bill and the Ragnarok saga. It should be shot for a two parter vice squeezing it into one movie

Good God Thor was so Mediocre. I mean I didn't dislike the movie, but it failed to make me geek out in any way shape or form (and Thor is my fav Marvel U hero.) which makes me sad I leave Thor with the same feeling I left Terminator Salvation with. Also there is 0 reason to see this movie in 3d, so go see it regular.

i love that branagh did his homework on Thor before filming, he seems to know and understand alot about the characters and the comics. i look forward to a sequal, wich will happen because Hemsworth has signed to play Thor 5 times!

The movie is awesome. I don't really remember Tom Hiddleton in anything else, but his acting along with Hopkins helped the film rise to a different level of quality than most MARVEL films. Asgard looks incredible, the Frost Giants and their realm, incredible. Hiemdall was amazing and silenced the haters. Please, make a sequel and put the story in Asgard.

Considering what they did with Thor, they could pretty much do anything with the sequel. Personally I'd like to see any of the following:

Absorbing Man (Highly underrated villain. Genuine powerhouse etc.)

Wrecking Crew (If they go for a more 'Midgard-based' sequel, it could work. As a team they are a decent enough threat)

Enchantress and Skurge (I'd prefer to see the both of them as I think Amora would be too similar in style to Loki. Skurge adds a bit of muscle)

Perrikus and The Dark Gods (This was a quality little story arc, and it really showcases Thors bravery. The only issue would be having no Donald Blake/Jake Olsen to change into, as that had a major part to play in the story)

Hela (This would end up being a classic 'overcoming the odds' story as Hela's ridiculously powerful, especially in her own realm, plus it's an opportunity to explore more of the nine worlds)

Surtur (Because it's Surtur. My only issue with this is his power. He's really Odins enemy, not Thors, although they have fought a few times. I'd have to see the OdinSword to accept the Thor win. I guess this could be another underdog story, like a Hela one, but if you know anything about Thor, then you'll be aware that Surtur is on an entirely different level to her. Thor would be one hell of an underdog)
Superman1792
Superman1792 - 5/11/2011, 4:27 PM
I would love to see Surtur but its a bit early to be having him in a movie. Balder the Brave should of been in it but it dont matter he has to be in the sequel. Amora the Enchantress and the Executioner would be great for the sequel. Hela would be great for Thor 3 maybe with Loki too either way Thor was awesome i just love seeing comic book movies on screen that are that epic
