In the aftermath of Marvel’s "Thor" and "Marvel’s The Avengers," Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

The movie wasn't bad and it has some very touching moments, some great action sequences(except the ending...the final fight is on par with IM2) and the comedy wasn't as bad as people have been saying,it DOES get in the way of some scenes and I hated that, but most defo one of the best CBM's this year.

I'd say as far as CBMs, this year goes:

1.The Wolverine
2.Man of Steel
3.Thor:Dark World
4.Iron Man 3

Have yet to watch Kick-Ass 2.

That 87% audience rating says a lot. 4.25 out of 5 star movie for me.

"an the main villian because was a pussy who was about to loose to her."

So, getting owned by an Asgardian goddess - who can lift 20 tons, wields magic, and was trained in H2H by Odin - is pussy?

This will be pretty predictable, DC fans will complain that it wasn't as good as the "God sent, amazing" MoS and Marvel fans will argue that MoS wasn't as good as Iron Man 3 or Thor

I saw it yesterday and I liked it. It had some holes, but the overall it was a pretty good. The humor didn't kill the tone, but I could've done without some of it. Bring on Thor 3!

Its funny that the two movies that are competing for CBM of the year both felt like a lot of the characterisation was left on the cutting room floor. Shows how good MOS and TTDW could have been.

Best movie cbm of the year. Followed closely by the Wolverine extended bluray.

The movie wasn't epic nor was it terrible it was right in the middle. I enjoyed watching it, I really like the opening and final battle scenes.

2nd to MOS. Awesome fun and pretty good CBM. Darcy and Erik comedy doesn't work and Malekith was shafted. I was disappointed with Malekith, had high hopes for him and he looked so badass. He's a mother[frick]ing DARK ELF badass. I don't think we've seen many dark elves in films, he made me feel like I was playing Skyrim again or watching LotR. They could've done so much with him, UGH!

As everyone said before, this year was fine for cbms, nothing epic, nothing too bad. I think MoS was the best, followed closely by TDW. 2014 and 2015 will rock!

It was a very good movie and you can tell they tried to introduce the space opera side of the comics that will suit with the GOTG universe

Hmmmm, most recent CBM usually have over 200 reviews. Weird.

Anyhow, Thor 2 was awesome. Just get Kat "Darcy" Dennings ass out for the sequel.

LOL!! Well well well according to SageMode, Ineedarevalation and all the other trolls this is now a bad movie so I guess we shouldn't bother seeing it, right?

RT is a double-edged sword, my friends.

Anyways I dont give a shit about RT. Although I dont care much for Thor as a character Marvel has yet to make a bad movie so theres no reason to think this is going to suck. Ill have to check it out later tonight.

Here's my thing. I wish that the characters in the films were more like the books.

Thor, Odin, The Collector, Heimdall.... the comic book counterparts to the movie versions are SO MUCH more powerful than depicted in the films. I'm really starting to miss that.

So the problem is ... the basic premise.

This phobia that Marvel has of depicting mystical magic in the movies. In other words of characters having powers that defy any rational explanation. It's causing the films to lack wonderment... for there to be a lack of possible grandiosity.

Oh it's grandiose alright. But Thor has at least half a dozen different powers not depicted in the films. Powers that could have made a massive difference to the fight scenes and the plot.

I think these Gods and Monsters should be larger than life like they are in the books.

That's an interesting view you have and seems you know a lot more about Thor than most do. Interesting point. I guess Marvels excuse is that they want to "ground" the characters. Make them more like us, ahem Darcy ahem.

I liked the movie just fine. That said I think the structure of marvel films needs to start to vary. They are all more or less the same film plus or minus an origin story. What they've done so far, putting their characters onto the screen while giving the source material a big old hug is great. But the story of villain seeks to become omnipotent, kicks the hero's ass, hero get's his hero on and wins the nearly hopeless day in a giant climactic battle woven with a will they or won't they/can they or can't they romance needs to be other things. For example you could do a "Demon in the Bottle" Iron Man movie that placed the villain story line way down on the list of arcs in the film. I have high hopes for the upcoming Netflix marvel project.
