THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Star Natalie Portman Is Training To "Look Like An Action Figure"

Natalie Portman talks more about her role as the Mighty Thor in Taika Waititi's upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, confirming Jane Foster's transformation and commenting on her intense training regime!

Natalie Portman was a guest Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week, and it won't surprise you to learn that the subject of Thor: Love and Thunder came up. The actress recently talked about the pressures of starring alongside Chris Hemsworth, and now explains the strict training regime she's undergoing while prepping for the film in Australia.

Revealing that she doesn't know "everything" about Taika Waititi's plans for Thor: Love and Thunder, Portman - who will reprise the role of Jane Foster - says she's been "trying to train and look like an action figure."

Kimmel asked if fans can expect Jane to go through the same transformation she does in the comic books, to which she said "yes." The actress also confirmed that Foster's version of Thor is indeed named "The Mighty Thor" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which was to be expected).

Cameras will begin rolling on Thor: Love and Thunder in the New Year, and with Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye set photos revealing first looks at Kamala Khan and Kate Bishop, it's possible we'll also get to see Jane Foster suited up as the Mighty Thor on the set of the movie as soon as next month.

I get why she didn’t like her character in the Thor movies, she was just Thor’s girl. I mean Valkyrie had much better character development in Ragnarok. I hope Natalie gets a chance to shine in this movie.

@JonAwesome - I'm certain she will under Taika's care and direction.

@JonAwesome - Jane Foster has always been more interesting to me as Thor's ex-girlfriend (even before she picked up the hammer). The MCU did her justice, I think, because it showed her and Thor as having this instant attraction, but ultimately not being right for each other. That's a necessary step 1 to do Jane right, I think.

They just never got around to step 2 (until now, maybe). Fingers crossed they land the plane.

I'm not that excited for this movie (probably will change when set photos come out), but I can't wait for what Mighty Thor is gonna look like

I remember the first time I started getting shoulder definition I felt like I was an overgrown action figure, so I get what she means haha

One of these days, when an actress says she’s getting in the shape of their lives, I really wanna see one of them just juiced up and looking like this for some shock value

@Se4M4NSt4ine - So the female equivalent of what Nanjiani did, haha

@tmp3 - If you’re interested, one of the guys I watch, who’s a certified IFBB Pro, basically confirms Nanjiani is definitely on the juice!

Good for her. Hopefully it shows. With her being such a petite woman, she’s gonna really put in the work.

@BlackBeltJones - tbf, if she puts on lean muscle then it'll show for sure. I think that tends to look a lot better than a normal bulk then cut, but it's also a lot harder so you're right about putting the work in

Check out Robin Wright and the Amazons of Themyscira in Wonder Woman. They're [frick]ing legit!

Looking forward to her return. But I wonder, especially with Taika directing, if the “Mighty” part is going to be more serious or humorous. I could see either.

Should be interesting, I hope this is a good Thor film all around.

I feel like everyone is literally going to call her the full 'The Mighty Thor' for a good 15 minutes, before she shortens it. I'm most curios about how she gets Mjolnir. Multiverse shenanigans?

ps. Female superheroes need gratuitous shirtless scenes too. Equal opportunity shirtlessness is necessary fo human progress.

She'll be the tiniest action figure ever.

Good actress but can't stand her in the Star Wars prequels or the Thor movies.
