Chris Hemsworth has done a great job of bringing Thor to the big screen, and it is hard to imagine anyone else playing Thor, however, Hemsworth will eventually leave and a replacement must be ready to take up the mantle of the god of thunder. It has been stated that Marvel intends to never reboot the MCU, which means we will most likely see several different actors play the same hero, after all, it would be madness for Marvel to never make another Thor film after Chris leaves. Though Hemsworth has been great as Thor there is one actor who could be even better, someone not unfamiliar playing a Viking, his name is.... TRAVIS FIMMEL!
We shall soon see Travis in his upcoming film WARCRAFT, in which he stars as Anduin Lothar, one of the greatest warriors of Azeroth. You may also know him from his role as Ragnar in Vikings, the History channel show about the Vikings and their many raids and conquests. Travis is a perfect fit for Thor, he looks like him, he is strong, handsome and he has already played a Viking so playing Thor would be easy for him. Thor: Ragnarok is said to be Marvel's darkest film yet, and after the success of Deadpool Marvel may try to go with darker storylines in Phase 4. It is my opinion that Travis Fimmel would excel playing a darker, more intimidating Thor in stories such as Siege or even the God butcher saga should Marvel choose to make such films. The only cons to Travis Fimmel taking over as Thor is his height, but 3 inches is nothing with todays CGI technology, and his age, but he is only 4 years older than Chris so its not much of an issue.
In conclusion, I think Travis Fimmel is the logical replacement for Hemsworth when the time comes. Please post your oppinions, FOR ASGARD!
