Paramount Pictures has released some character posters for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, giving us new looks at three of the principal Robots in Disguise.

There's the legendary Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), his Maximal counterpart Optimus Primal (Ron Perlman), and new Autobot Mirage (Pete Davidson), who, as long-time fans are sure to be aware, may not prove to be the most trustworthy ally.

We assume more banners are on the way, so keep an eye out for updates.

A theatre standee for the movie has also been spotted in the wild, giving us a look at most of the Autobot and Maximal characters assembled.

Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new breed of Transformer – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons.

Steven Caple Jr. directs, and the sequel also stars Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Tobe Nwigwe, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, David Sobolov, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, and Cristo Fernández.

Rise of the Beasts arrives in theatres June 9, 2023.

Let’s see how this plays…
But.

Might have preferred they stuck to Cartoon Storyline of beast wars and removed the Autobots almost entirely.

Then again beast wars is problematic if you want to have human characters involved.

EgoEgor - 3/11/2023, 4:38 PM
@IronGenesis - But why have human characters at all? I don't understand, transformers are already anthropomorphic. The best parts of Bumblebee is the stuff on cybertron. Beast Wars realized this(saved them having to animated human features as well) that you don't need the human characters. In fact no one cares about the human characters. When will they learn?

dragon316 - 3/11/2023, 4:46 PM
@IronGenesis - there kinda humans in beast wars cave people beast wars crossover with g1 in last season trying save Optimus prime spark from dying it’s different way kinda same way of doing it.,

Cartoons made changes first to characters movies follow them at lead wheel armada was autobot who became deception who was never scientist but warrior

@IronGenesis - if cartoon was good bumblebee would have made billion easy movies are made for new fans and old fans

@EgoEgor - id kill for a war for cybertron film!
Ryguy88
Ryguy88 - 3/11/2023, 7:41 PM
@EgoEgor - exactly! The human characters are boring af, they should just be used as collateral.

@EZBeast @EgoEgor @Ryguy88 @bkmeijer1 - Well then maybe I can save a life here 😉. Actually there is a feature-length, fully animated film currently in production that is like the opening sequence from "Bumblebee" that takes place entirely on Cybertron, that will be coming out next year, in fact Hasbro is currently working on the (obvious) associated toy line. So no need for murder, they listened to the fans.

And if you are a fan of the '86 movie (I saw it in the theaters and, yes, I cried when Prime died like everyone else (is that a spoiler?)), the opening sequence from "Bumblebee", or the "War for Cybertron" game, Hasbro has you covered with their Studio Series line of figures which naturally cover the movies so far, but also the three other properties (the game series is a brand new sub-line of the SS line which will games, including the new "Reactivation" game that is coming out). So if you want the figs, there you go (and they are quite nice).

@StSteven - are you for real???
StSteven
StSteven - 3/11/2023, 9:54 PM
@EZBeast - Yeah (and I don't even work for Hasbro or anything - but I do have a Deception tattoo on my left shoulder). Which part are you asking about?

@StSteven - a war for cybertron movie is coming???

StSteven - 3/11/2023, 10:23 PM
@EZBeast - Dude, I don't f**k around about TFs 😉. I literally have an entire spare bedroom in my house with thousands of them stacked up, still in the boxes.

As for the animated movie, you can crank up your Google machine, but here's a recent article so you know that I ain't making this shit up:

https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/first-words-on-toyline-for-upcoming-2024-animated-transformers-film/47525/

And if you scroll down to post later on this page, I throw out the idea that if both the BW characters from this new movie go over well AND the animated movie goes over well, we could ultimately be looking at 3 concurrent streams of big screen TF stuff with the G! TFs, the BW TFs, and the animated TF stuff (but that's just speculation on my part right now, however you KNOW that Hasbro is thinking about it). I mean, that would theoretically appease, like, ALL the fans, and sell a shitload of toys.

@StSteven - I am indeed a fan of two out of three of those things (never played War for Cybertron), so that does sound great
StSteven
StSteven - 3/12/2023, 4:56 PM
@bkmeijer1 - It was a pretty cool game. And the teaser for the new game ("Reactivation" looks pretty cool as well. From just the teaser, it looks like it takes place on Earth in the middle of an alien invasion (not Decepticons at first) and you are a TF that the humans wake up (likely Bumblebee) to fight the invasion. Almost looks like Gears of War x TF. Check it out:

Obviously there will be a LOT of other TFs as well (gotta make those toys) and there's another collection of cut scenes that I can't find right now that show a group of Autobots AND Decepticons working TOGETHER to try to find a cure for whatever virus the aliens have unleashed (I believe it's a virus that kills TFs as well as humans). Overall looks pretty badass.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/12/2023, 6:37 PM
@StSteven - that is a pretty great premise. Had no idea that was out there. Thanks for putting it on my radar
StSteven
StSteven - 3/12/2023, 9:09 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Sure thing. If I come across that other video of the cut scenes I'll post it because it's pretty cool. Imagine a huddle room where Ratchet is diagnosing the virus and Starscream and the other 'Cons are there squabbling about what to do about it. Meanwhile Shockwave has his own plans... at least that's how I remember it.

I'll dig for it when I get a sec... I know it's in a post on one of my TF sites...

But yeah, if they pull off a GoW + Resistance + TF in a halfway decent game, dude that's totally a "Day 1 tell the kids that Daddy is sick for a week burning PTO purchase" for me, and I don't even have the time to game anymore (except for the weekend Mario games with the kids).
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/13/2023, 4:16 AM
@StSteven - despite apocalyptic disease-filled alien invasions, I bet Starscream is still gonna go "Guess I'm in charge now!" at every corner.
StSteven
StSteven - 3/13/2023, 5:14 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Oh, of course. Starscream gonna Starscream. Speaking of which, I found those cutscenes I was referring to:

https://tformers.com/watch-leaked-transformers-reactive-game-cinematics-ratchet-starscream-more/48130/news.html

Enjoy!

bkmeijer1 - 3/13/2023, 6:40 PM
@StSteven - nice. Although it's just early day stuff, that already looks pretty interesting
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/13/2023, 7:29 PM
@StSteven - damn, those designs are sweet. I mean, "merde, c'est très bien"!
StSteven
StSteven - 3/13/2023, 9:59 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Oui! I'll let you know when I hear more about the game and such, but for me the toys for those are bought on sight (I generally prefer the Studio Series figures anyway as they are generally the nicer adult/collector-oriented figs anyway). Really liking the Sunstreaker love there as he was one of my original favs (and figs).

And BTW, if you like the G1 toys, Walmart has been reissuing the original G1s for a while. Currently they have a G1 Starscream and a Hot Rod in the colors for "TF:TM". Up next they have Thhundercracker, Shrapnel, and Preceptor, all the original molds.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/14/2023, 4:52 AM
@StSteven - I kinda want a Lego Hot Rod instead. Maybe once the movie or the game releases.
StSteven
StSteven - 3/14/2023, 1:22 PM
@bkmeijer1 - My wife got me the LEGO Prime that came out last year. Naturally, it's still in the Box sealed. However, she just got me this TF Lite Brite for Valentine's Day which is like this 16" x 16" wall hanging that has like these micro pegs (6000) with 3 different patterns (Prime, Bumblebee, and the Autobot symbol), which I WILL actually being doing to hang on the wall in my TF room, along with my TF art from the Moor Art Gallery as well as my signed comic art. Check it out:

https://hasbropulse.com/products/lite-brite-wall-art-transformers-edition

As far as LEGOs go, I haven't heard of any future TFs, but I'm sure they're coming. I'll let you know if I hear anything, however I wouldn't expect Hot Rod to be one of the immediate next ones, as they'll probably go with a better known character (and probably a Deception next). My guess is probably Megatron. And based on the figures that Hasbro almost always puts out first when it's a limited line it'll probably be Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Gridlock, and Soundwave, if they decide to keep going with it.

But then again, you never know. LEGO puts out some off the wall stuff. I got my wife the LEGO "Friends" TV set a couple of years ago. It's still in the box. Not because she's trying to keep it MIBS, just that she's not interested in building LEGOs :/ (I think she's just waiting for our daughter to get old enough to build it for her).
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/14/2023, 3:33 PM
@StSteven - a Lego Starscream would be pretty dope too. Otherwise I can always build one myself. That's the beauty of Lego
StSteven
StSteven - 3/14/2023, 4:34 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Yeah, SS is one of my favorites, and I can do a pretty accurate Chris Latta SS voice (would LOVE to be a voice actor as SS in a TF cartoon one of these days).

Yeah, you can do a custom LEGO SS, but the cool thing about those custom builds are the specialized parts that they make for them. Like with the Prime one, there are A LOT of customized parts where I don't know how you'd build that section or whatever without them (like his Ion Blaster, for example).

BTW, I don't know if you were aware, but Hasbro attempted their own version of LEGOs several years ago (called Kre-o) which pretty much failed, but I have all the TF sets (still in the boxes, naturally).

FWIW, I'm not just a TF LEGO snob. I also have some Star Wars sets, including Grogu, a Tie Fighter, Anakin's Jedi Star Fighter, the Stormtrooper helmet (again, from my wife - she's an enabler), and the AT-AT set, which I got at like 50% off from Walmart.

BTW, being a big LEGO fan as you seem to be, is it absolutely killing you that I'm leaving all these sets in the boxes? Hope so 😉.

FWIW, my daughters are BIG LEGO fans, and being as my wife isn't really interested in them, I used to help my oldest building her sets (she's since decided that she doesn't need my help anymore), so we have a shitload of LEGOs around our house. She mainly likes the Disney Princess ones, but she'll build anything so she's also has the LEGO Friends sets (not the show), LEGO City, etc. We even have those giant LEGO storage boxes, like the bricks and the mini-fig heads. Just wish we had a place to set them all up (right now they're dominating our dining room, which is fine because we never use it for it's intended purpose).
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/14/2023, 6:35 PM
@StSteven - true, special sets often have unique parts. Still, I can work my way around it.

And yeah, Lego Star Wars is great too. I'm still bummed I didn't get my hands on the Star Destroyers. And I'm not gonna buy one for twice the retail price from a reseller. I'll just wait for a new set.
StSteven
StSteven - 3/15/2023, 9:45 PM
@bkmeijer1 - I'm sure for someone who seems to know their way around a box of LEGOs pretty well you'd figure out a way..

Yeah that Death Star would be pretty cool as well but I probably wouldn't pay full price for it (and DEFINITELY. not twice the price). LEGO will probably rerelease it at some point or make a whole new one.

BTW, you probably already know this but LEGO has a VIP club that get's special stuff and is free to join (it's through their website). I joined it a while a got a free. Chinese New Year set a little while ago when I was ordering some sets for my oldest's birthday. You probably also know this ut they have pdfs of all the instruction manuals through their website as well so that you don't save them which is starting to get out of control for me so I'll have to start weeding them out.

StSteven - 3/15/2023, 10:29 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Also it just occurred to me that the scene from "TF:TM" with the Quintessons and Hot Rod, Kup, etc. in the pool of Sharkticons would make an awesome set.

BTW, fun fact: "Kup" is just short for "Pickup". See? Storehouse of useless knowledge right here 😊.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/16/2023, 4:52 AM
@StSteven - yeah I know of both. Already have a lot of PDFs saved on my computer as well. Do also have the Star Destroyer one, and I am considering just ordering all the pieces instead.

And there are for sure a few moments in the movies that make for some cool sets. Gimme downtown Chicago too
StSteven
StSteven - 3/16/2023, 3:52 PM
@bkmeijer1 - Yep. The Ark on the moon from "TF3" would be cool as well. Also th opening scene to "TF3" with Prime, SW, and his Driller would be cool.

BTW you probably already saw this, but I LEGO is adding new sets for Indiana Jones asa well, "Raiders" and "Last Crusade": https://www.superherohype.com/geek-culture/528769-indiana-jones-lego-adds-new-raiders-and-last-crusade-sets
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 3/16/2023, 7:01 PM
@StSteven - yeah, especially Dark of the Moon has cool potential sets. The worm devouring a building would be great too.

Also, I expect a lot of new sets for Indy. Gotta play through the whole saga before the new movie.

@thebagman - same. Transformers The Movie is probably the first thinh from the animated Transformers I saw, so Hot Rod made a much bigger impression than Optimus.

These movies are all so stupid. . . but TAKE MY MONEY to watch giant robots beat each other up!!!
FlixMentallo21
FlixMentallo21 - 3/11/2023, 8:12 PM
@NGFB - Correction, all the movies that weren't the 2007 film (which, looking back, was 'okay') or Bumblebee were stupid.
EZBeast
EZBeast - 3/11/2023, 5:35 PM
The best part of beast wars that is a condensed story that revolves about not a handful of good and bad characters. It made for interesting contained stories but with this movie not only are they adding humans (which none of us care for) and a totally different set of transformers so now we have too many characters to care about. Also doesn’t help that some of the designs in this one have been underwhelming so far…
