As filming continues on Paramount's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, director Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II; The Land) has shared a first look at some of the many vehicles that will feature in the upcoming Bumblebee sequel.
In the first image, we catch a look at the Autobots in their vehicle alt-modes, led by Optimus Prime in his trademark red-and-blue as a 1979 Kenworth k100 semi truck and Bumblebee as a Chevrolet Camaro, although this time he transforms into an off-road safari variant. The blue-and-silver Porsche 964 is Mirage, the red-and-white Ducati 916 motorcycle is Arcee, and the brown-and-white 1964 Volkswagen Classic Devon Camper van is Wheeljack.
In the second photo, we meet the villain of the piece, Scourge, the terrifying leader of the Terrorcons who will transform into a black Kenworth JF logging truck. He's accompanied by Nightbird, who will become a black-and-purple Nissan Skyline GT-R R33, and an unidentified orange GM c4500 topkick tow-truck.
Plot details remain scarce, but when we attended an exclusive production launch event back in June, we learned quite a bit about the film's 1994 setting and what will bring the Autobots and Decepticons to Earth thirteen years before the events of the first film.
Outside of the show-stopping robots in disguise, the film will star Anthony Ramos (In the Heights; Hamilton), Dominique Fishback (The Deuce; Judas and the Black Messiah), Luna Lauren Vélez (Dexter; Ugly Betty), and Tobe Nwigwe, with Peter Cullen (Transformers; The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh) set to return as the voice of Optimus Prime and Ron Perlman (Hellboy; Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as the voice of Optimus Primal.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will hit theaters on June 24, 2022.
