RICK AND MORTY Live-Action Finale Promo Sees Christopher Lloyd & Jaeden Martell Star As The Titular Duo

Adult Swim has released an awesome new live-action promo for this Sunday's season finale of Rick & Morty featuring a long-overdue surprise, as we finally get to see Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd suit up as the titular Rick Sanchez with Knives Out's Jaeden Martell co-starring as his Morty Smith.

The plot of the upcoming two-part finale has been kept firmly under wraps, but the teaser does label the pair as the Rick and Morty of C-132, so it's fair to wonder whether they could actually show up at some point in either of the two episodes.

Episode nine is titled "Forgetting Sarick Mortshall," and its synopsis reads, "Rick gets new sidekicks, while Morty makes a new friend.," while episode ten is titled "Rickmurai Jack," with a synopsis that promises quite an eventful hour as "Rick is living his best anime life, making new friends and taking down new enemies."

Check out the promo below:

Plus, we also have the first episode's cold open, which sees Morty go on his own adventure. Everything seems to go pretty well too until he gets home...

As for what happens next, Spencer Grammer, who voices Summer Smith, recently revealed to Inverse that there probably won't be a huge break between Sunday's finale and Season 6.

"I keep saying, there's gonna be so many more episodes. They're writing season 6 already and are probably going to start writing season 7 soon. It's nice to be on a real schedule that people can see every year, hopefully, but who knows, it could be two years! I don't want to give anybody high hopes, but I don't know that it'll be three years again."

Daniel Radcliffe was the first choice to play Morty, but he wisely declined. Lol.

Martell plays a stutterer well.

I hope Lloyd doesn't over do it. Rick isn't Doc, and he also isn't a silly goofy guy. He is serious and calculating and dangerous. He didn't seem pissed off or annoyed or bored enough. I once thought this was perfect casting, but this clip makes me think he's gonna play him very different.

@ElricReturns - It’s just a promo. There’s no plans for a film or anything more than what you have seen in this clip lol. It’s just to promote the show’s season finale.

@NoerGregorio - oh, I thought it was part of, if not the premise of the finale.

I still remember the Family Guy reference
Doc: Marty we gotta, it's a huge emergency
Marty: oh geez, what happened doc?
Doc: your mom married a black guy!!
LMAO!!

Okay that's a pretty simple but fun promo.

Even though the season had some lows, I do hope the finale can get to the same levels as the high. Eight episode was great
