Amazon Prime has finally debuted a full trailer for its upcoming adaptation of
The Boys, and if you're a fan of Garth Ennis' gleefully gratuitous comic series, then you should be very happy with what's on display here.
The teaser sees Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) explain to "Wee" Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) how he goes about "spanking" superheroes that step out of line amid footage of decapitations, exploding bodies, dolphin abuse, and what can only be described as... death by cunnilingus?
Anyway, you get the idea - it's not for the kiddies. Check out the trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
In a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame, The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as "the boys," who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.
The Boys is set to premiere on July 26. The show hails from
Supernatural creator and
Timeless co-creator Eric Kripke,
Preacher‘s Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, and Sony Pictures TV.
