This show and its parent require the characters to be complete morons. How do people find this entertaining?

@AlphaMasterFlex

It appears that the pace of events have actually slowed down in this episode which seems to
have skipped forward a few weeks from the last one when it begins and plays out over several
more days.

SPOILERS.............................................

I say that because the episode seemed to go out of its way to suggest that the neighborhood
had settled into a "new normal" status quo under military protection and Nick has fooled
everybody into believing he has kicked his addiction when he had been undergoing cold turkey
withdraws while finding another source for his high.

Air Travel had just been shut down (perhaps due to the plane incident) at the end of the last episode
but now, civilian ground traffic in the safe zone, has been suspended and the citizens seem to be used
to the military rationing supplies (which seem to still be arriving) restricting power use (still on a predictable
schedule) and issuing further directives at regular intervals.

Plus Travis seems to have settled in to a working relationship with the military
in which he helps keep everybody in line.

It also seems that enough time has gone by that the authorities (who still exist to issue directives
to the local National Guard Commander) to understand the true nature of the outbreak and adopt
a search and destroy policy to anybody in the LA area not in one of the six safe zones.

While large swaths of urban area have been declared as cleared out wasteland it's obvious
from this episode that individuals were trapped among the walkers and ether killed by military
patrols, the walkers,or their own hand out of despair which may have been what we may have
witnessed tonight.

@Supes17

That guy is wearing his patrol cap like a baseball cap.

Most likely because the actor was not a real soldier and has no idea about the proper wearing of the
Army Combat Uniform or it could be a dramatic decision on the part of the writers to depict this soldier
as more civilian minded then his fellow soldiers and thus, more likely to question orders from his leaders
when it comes to dealing harshly with civilians.

Notice the story is setting up a conflict between the young weekend warrior who appears to be a cheery
and his Sergeant and Lieutenant who are both combat veterans from the 10th Mountain Division.

The young soldier is taking up for his new civilian squeeze, the Lieutenant is hard core by the book and the
Sergeant is trying to walk the fine line between his professional duties as a soldier to follow lawful orders
and the demands of his conscience to not do what doesn't feel right.

I guess I'm the only one enjoying the show.Like how they are going the route of the military sectioning off certain places that haven't been affected that much and hunkering down. Similar to the police officers who held up in the hospital in "The Walking Dead".

Why is Nick continuing to wear the old dead guys clothes? Why is everyone in the show so stupid? Why is the show called fear the walking dead without the constant fear of the walking dead? This show is getting worse not better...

Love the walking Dead, but this show is a borefest. This show should be called "Nod Off to the Walking Dead". Was there even a single zombie in tonight's episode? I might have blinked and missed the cameo.

that plane Nick saw going out of control at the end of episode 3....I wonder if that's the same that will be for the zombies on a plane stand alone 30 min episode

This show is crap. Pointless crap. Its beyond boring. Every single character is stupid. And i mean stupid. I dont care if they never seen "zombie" movies, If I saw any of the stuff they are seeing Im not sicking around. On the other show you have people you want to see survive and go on. This Fear show I want to see them all die! I hate ever person. They dont bring anything to wanting to survive and live. Just druggy, winy, little bitches. Last night you see a light flicker in the distance from the sun. Who cares. Someone might be alive or its just the sun off glass. Let it be. Then the movie is on the roof with the smallest flash light ever as if that will do anything. Come on. Walking Dead....fine. We have our long zombie show. Fear the walking dead....brings nothing to the story, just the studios trying to make more money and is a complete waste of time. Sooooo boring!

Lol I'm sorry but it's still way out of regulation. They also wouldn't let him run around willy nilly during a national crisis without his gear. Everyone would be dressed the same.

Last night's episode was surprisingly good! I guess the guard are just going to murder everyone outside the safezone. I'm thinking they probably aren't receiving orders, nor are there other camps across town.
rabid
rabid - 9/21/2015, 9:09 AM
No, the guard had killed all the zombies in a radius of a few miles.

@fettastic that is hitting the nail right on the head. I was watching it...im like, ok, we arent gonna get zombies right away, but the story will build, questions will be growing. The mom, killed the "walker" at school, they saw people eating people on the news. the neighbors are going crazy, the son is still fighting drugs (kinda)......I know...lets play Monopoly!

this show sucks.

***EVERYBODY SEEMS TO HAVE MISSED THE INVALUABLE LEASONE WE LEARNED LAST NIGHT***

If (or rather, "When") the zombie apocalypse happens, you CANNOT TRUST ANYONE who plays golf inside of a closed off (walled or fenced) compound!!!

First The Governor now this Lieutenant guy... come on... the signs were there all along!

wait are people STILL complaining about "not enuff zombiez! derp"!? Good god what's the disconnect?

Do you even know what this show is based upon? No wonder some of you don't like the show because you don't understand what you are watching! Come on already!

Episode 4 was pretty good, the time jump was healthy for the season to begin to progress. Although it would have been nice to see more of the military invasion, it's nice to see the completion from the beginning to the end of the episode that the military is indeed corrupt. Although the story lines are predictable, it's still a nice show to watch on Sunday evenings.

@luxbox. U didn't read my post. I don't care if they didn't show any "walkers" this season. That's not why they show sucks. The cast has about 14 people. 14 people that have barely a dash of character. Just a bunch of wining boring crap. I don't care if anyone on this show isn't in the next episode. Something is happening in the world and they stop to play Monopoly. I don't want to play the game let alone watch three boring aholes play it on my tv! I don't care about the government people and what they are doing. It's clear as day from the first time you see them that they are not gonna be good. And I'm sorry but Los Angeles... All the famous n rich people there... The army will be in Beverly Hills before they give two shits about these crybaby losers wherever they are. It's dreadful story telling with piss poor acting. Walkers being on the show won't help any. Rick and his team would leave these people to die... That's how worthless this cast is!

I really want to like this show and I like the concept. I just don't like any of the characters except for the barber. The mom and dad continue to make decisions that would be bad on Sesame Street, let alone the apocalypse. I don't know if its the writing or the acting cause this cast has no chemistry.

However, next week episode looks like it will be good!

luxbox
luxbox - 9/21/2015, 6:21 PM
No one ever said they made this series for fans to fall in love with the characters or to be as popular as TWD. Yes the characters are boring and the episodes seem to be predictable but it's also a 6 episode season. How much did you exactly want them to cover? How in depth did you want them to dive into the characters? Who cares if there's only 14 characters? Otherwise each episode would be focused on a different family member...

The idea of having a small cast allows you to follow that families experience during the infection. I'd much rather have the current boring broken family story line than following around a celebrity during the outbreak. Again, it's a series to show people when the infection started and what events took place after. After allegedly 9 days after the first report, I think the shows story has progressed pretty well showing how quickly power and water would be out, how fast hell would literally break loose and how easily people can be broken down and not be able to cope with the "new world" around them.

I gave up on this show after 2 episodes.

The crack head son is the one with the most sense in His head.

Parents ignore telling daughter about people getting shot, run over and still rising from the dead.

daughter has typical me syndrome.

father's other son is completely cluseless, puts himself in danger because "I HAVE TO BE A PART OF THIS DAD!"

Mother tries to reason with zombie co-worker,even though she has seen one and she knows something is wrong.

Mother still doesn't tell daughter anything, even as everything goes to shit.

Never has a show made me ao angry so quickly.
