Show producer/writer Frank Darabont expressed concerns about possible budget cuts hurting this season, but he sounds pretty positive here..

At this moment, I’m standing on a stretch of post-apocalypse interstate in Georgia, littered with abandoned cars and blessing my good luck to be reunited with our amazing cast, and our fantastic directors and crew. Across the board, there are none better. It’s great to be shooting again. I think we’ve embarked on a great season.


The first season was very well received, despite deviating from the comics on a few major levels. The second season is currently shooting in Georgia and will premier in October with 23 episodes.

My girlfriend and I love this show, I cannot wait for season 2! And that zombie chick with the crazy eyes looks freaky as hell.

@Slaine-the reason the first season "went downhill pretty fast" is because, and I've argued this issue many times over, they did not stick with the comic book story line. It did at first, which is why it came out of the gate so strong, but then it began to deviate...in a big way..from the original plot line. And before everyone starts in on me..AGAIN..I, probably more than most, understand that certain things have to be changed or fleshed out better due to it being different mediums. To completely change the plot...they took a big risk with that and it didn't work for them.
But hey, that's just my humble opinion for whatever it's worth.

Also, in case anyone cares...I was chosen to be an extra zombie for season two...but, since I have the WORST luck of anyone I know, I live too far away. I was notified two days ago to be in Atlanta yesterday. When I informed them that I would grab the first flight out, I was told that for right now, due to false starts and stops during the initial filming, they would call me when things were more set. So...wish me luck! Dream come true if it works out!!!!!

This season is gonna be great, and the show is gonna be a freaking hit for yrs to come, if u think diffrently, then u don't know AMC..
