THE WALKING DEAD: Last Night's Episode May Have Revealed How We'll Say Goodbye To Rick Grimes - SPOILERS

We've known for a while that Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes is leaving The Walking Dead and we now have all the details for you on last night's episode and a first look at what will be happening next Sunday.

In the closing few minutes of last night's episode of The Walking Dead, Rick Grimes learned of Maggie and Daryl's plan to assassinate Negan and despite clashing with his old friend, Alexandria's leader made what might just be his final sacrifice in the AMC drama.

After refusing to let Daryl lead them to a bridge which could be destroyed to send the undead tumbling into the water below (because that would put the future he promised his son at risk), Rick led them away. However, when the herd overwhelmed him, his frightened horse threw the hero into a metal pole which left Rock impaled as the walkers closed in.

Our first look at next week's episode of The Walking Dead seemingly makes it clear that he won't die there but it looks like we'll be getting a series of flashbacks to some iconic moments in the character's history in what looks set to be his final appearance.

Right now, all the signs are pointing to Rick being killed off as it's hard to imagine him abandoning his community unless he's left comatose or is kidnapped! Either way, with
ratings still plummeting, this show could very well end up being as dead as its titular walkers before too long. What did you think of last night's episode?

This season has been absolutely excellent thus far. A huge step forward from the last few seasons.

I really hope they don't kill off Rick. I hope he gets "taken" and the group goes on a rescue mission for him.

This leaves him open to return at some point.

To kill him off would ruin how good this season has been so far. Everything about this season is better.

It absolutely has season 1 vibes. Back to basics.

I stopped watching after they killed The Governor. I stopped paying attention after the third episode of season 2.

I think that they're going to leave the door open for him to come back. The episode this season has been outstanding. And last night is the best so far with damn good acting from the cast. I don't want to see leave him the show but I understand why. Been a fan since season one and will be one well after the show is off the air.

"...threw the hero into a metal pole which left Rock impaled as the walkers closed in."

So the twist is they're recasting The Rock as Rick Grimes? Sure, why the hell not.
