A new Walking Dead series is set to debut on AMC in early-2020, and fans of the network's long-running post-apocalyptic horror drama were treated to an extensive look late last night. Check out the footage below.

The series is reportedly set 10 years after the zombie apocalypse first began and focuses on the first generation to grows up in the zombie apocalypse. It seems these young adolescents are well aware of Walkers, they've just never interacted with one because they've grown up within the safety of a closed environment.  However, something occurs that results in the populace of this safe haven having to leave their sanctuary and venture out into the unknown.

In addition to Julia Ormond's Elizabeth, the main cast of World Beyond includes Aliyah Royale as Iris, Annet Mahendru as Huck, Alexa Mansour as Hope, Nicolas Cantu as Elton, Hal Cumpston as Silas and Nico Tortorella as Felix. Scott Gimple and Matt Negrete co-created the series, which enlisted Jordan Vogt-Roberts to direct the pilot.

The end of the world was their beginning. The Walking Dead: World Beyond debuts Spring 2020 on AMC.

Recently binged Black Summer last week. Levels ahead of TWD, even at its best imo.

Go watch that if you want a great zombie tale.

@MrCamw1 - Im in the building next to it. I'll see if my friend in that building can send me some photos. It's two of my company's buildings side by side. They are filming in some woods that separates the back street and the train yard below it. Apparently there are zombies out there.

Wow ten years after the apocalypse. That's at least 5 years after where we are today with Walking Dead right?

Should be interesting because whatever Rick is getting involved with regarding the helicopter people will likely have ramifications we'll see realized in this show.

This looks utterly awful. I know i'm a grumpy bastard on here. But it's true. Like some angsty fan fiction. Look at this.

It is a good thing that there are human beings beyond cult-sites like this because I can still keep enjoying things in spite a lot of you.

Look at this beautiful gif. It's when AMC still knew how to end a show perfectly. Sadly it's also a gif that symbolizes the moment when AMC decided to give there audience the middle finger and go full self-destruct.

After 10 years in this world, or 14 if you count Fear, they need to reinvent or change up the world if they want to spin off a bunch of new shows. Either create more elaborate world building or tell more elaborate stories. Because the world of the walking dead is actually very basic, there’s very little special or unique about it. It’s the characters that make it good. So if you’re gonna make a new show without those characters, create a story that amazes us, not just the same survivalist stories BUT WITH TEENS! What about a story about how people on an island are experimenting on survivors to create a cure and the ethics of that (go the full on horror route). Or a story about walkers suddenly evolving and getting fast. Whatever. Just something different. I never made it past season 2 of Fear because it seemed like the same show with different, less appealing characters. If it differentiated itself somehow I might have been interested.

I stopped watching the original show ages ago because it felt to me like the story would never be going towards any kind of satisfying conclusion.

Now it looks like they made an entire additional show to support my feeling. Coolcoolcool.
