In an interview with TVLine, Katie Cassidy who plays Laurel Lance on the hit The CW show "Arrow" was very forthcoming over the details of her character's journey to becoming the surperheroine Black Canary

On the question of whether Sara will survive, Katie Cassidy says, "It’s television, maybe she’s still alive!.... The one thing I will say about our show, which is great, is that Sara is very much a huge part of Season 3. She drives Laurel, she is inspirational for her. She motivates her. There are plenty of reasons why Laurel does some of the things she does in Season 3 are encouraged by her sister." On how Sara's accident motivates Laurel to become the Black Canary. Cassidy continues,
"She gets angry, she wants to get revenge somehow…. You’ll see her kind of dig deep and come out on top.
Birds of Prey
She’s very, very strong, and she’s a fighter, so we’ll continue to explore that."

On how revenge is Laurel's drug of choice this season. "
Absolutely. What happens to Sara, whether she lives or not, it’s a tragedy. She will seek revenge, and that will motivate her to engage more in that fighter/warrior mentality, and give her what it takes.'

Laurel is also going to slowly become more involved with Team Arrow, especially with her physical training and rekindling romance with Oliver. "Oliver is skeptical at first, but I think that he, hopefully, will come to respect her for it, and recognize that she has it." suspects Cassidy.

I wonder if this means the Lazerus Pit will come into play. Though I think the way to keep Sara on the show will be with flashbacks instead. I just hope when Laurel becomes the new Black Canery she uses no mask.

Did nobody see the three arrows strike into her? I'd say she's definalty a goner so how's it possible that she could come back? Maybe in nightmares and flashbacks but alive and well? I don't think so.

Of course they could "bring her back".
WHAT IF....Both "Arrow" & (mainly)"The Flash" kill off enough good and bad guys by say, the next season...perhaps introduce a Green Lantern (not necessarily of Earth's sector) and begin to plant the seeds of "Blackest Night" on Earth? The "Black Hand" as a super villain is easily grounded enough that he fits into both Arrow & Flash show format. Throw in Ras and the Lazarus pit for good measure...I believe it could be very interesting.
