Did ARROW Slyly Introduce Viewers To Apokolips Last Episode?

Could Darkseid and Apokolips be coming to Arrow? Many DC Comics fans are beginning to think that Damien Darhk may have gotten his hands on a bit of Apokolips tech and is the precursor to an invasion. Could Arrow season 4 pave the way for the New Gods in season 5?

What's in the box? That's what many fans wanted to know when Damien Darhk's mystery box first appeared on screen.  Well, last episode, not only did the mystery box appear, it was opened.  And given the brief glimpse of the schematics that were unveiled many comic fans think Darhk may have gotten his hands on a Motherbox or Fatherbox - sentient, source-wielding, teleportation devices that belong to the residents of New Genesis and Apokolips (If you're a Destiny player, think of it as a Ghost).   There's further chatter that the character's name may be a bit of misdirection from the show's executive producers and that Damien's last name is actually an allusion to his service to Darkseid.

This is an interesting theory but one that merits consideration.  Who would've thought that from the gritty realistic season one of Arrow, we'd have a world populated by meta-humans,   mystics and very soon, time travel?  Given the sheer amount of ground that the show's covered thus far, it doesn't seem entirely out of the question that aliens could be the next topic tackled next season. Coast City, home of Green Lantern has already been introduced. Then, there's the introduction of Hawkman and Hawkgirl.  Though the show appears to be going the ancient Egyptian route, it's still not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Legends of Tomorrow somehow weaves in the character's Thanagarian backgrounds.  Justice League Unlimited was able to accomplish this with brilliant precision.   Lastly, let's not forget that Diggle was just given the codename Spartan; it's entirely possible that the show has already subtly woven in other-worldly elements while directing attention elsewhere.

I don't know how I feel about this. Unless they are going to spend the money to make it look right leave Darkseid to the movies....

It does look a bit motherboxy. And Hal Jordan appeared (for like two seconds) in the flashback in the season premiere but I don't expect to ever see Green Lantern on Arrow. They're just easter eggs.

Well I guess this is where the part of Arrowverse Spilling into the Flashverse is going to be either good or bad. Id rather Apokolips be saved for a super or meta human. Not Arrow.

I can't see Mother Box tech being useful in the Flash/Arrow mythology. And Maxwell Lord is over at CBS.
But if it is, maybe Damien Darkh wants to pull a Prometheus and teleport Star City to the Ghost Zone.
Or maybe this is how HIVE gets taken over by the alien Queen Bee.

Hmm this would be interesting as I would assume that any potential movie characters would be off limits so if Darkseid is used does that rule him out of the JL movie or at least the first movie.

Also, Arrow defeating Datkseid might be tough to swallow Batman has only done it because deep down he's as insane as his villains and was prepared to blow up a planet but the direct confrontation he was getting whooped

Well, interesting to note than when Jack Kirby did Green Arrow back in the 50's he introduced the notion of Oliver being trapped on an island for 5 years AND he showed what appeared to be a boom tube for the first time.. look it up.

Not sure about this new gods stuff, but I do really want to know what that box is and I think it is going to be very important going forward.

The only time I remember Batman taking down Darkseid was in Final Crisis when he shot him.

There is an old story from Teen Titans where the master of HIVE finds alien tech from a downed ship. It introduced Thunder and Lightning, children of an alien that crashed in Asia long ago. They're part of the history of Teen Titans/League of Assassins/Outsiders, so that would fit Arrow mythology.

If they want to get really alien on us, they could say that aliens are at the source of the mirakuru and lazarus juice. And to make it blend with the religious occult aspect, they could make those aliens Kherubim and Daemonite (which is why Diggle is codenamed Spartan).

Oliver and Atom took out Darkseid in Rock of Ages. I want Darkseid in season five with Hal in the flashbacks, then in season six we get Parralax as the baddy. Jordan version not a cloud.

My first thought was it was a motherbox, and Darhk could be a stand in for bruno mannheim, although that is unlikely. why would the box be so big?

Great news the new gods could work hopefully. Seeing Big Barda would be great if Flash ever did the Flashpoint storyline. They could have Barda and Furies doing Wonder Woman role from the film.

Damien Darhke is dealing with the mystical. The New Gods are not mystical.
