Arrow has been one of the mainstays on The CW for going on six years now, as people were lured in by the amazing action sequences and grittier take. While there have been some ups and downs with the series, it has maintained a certain level of viewership to keep it going.
The show's star, Stephen Amell, is hoping to see a more socially conscious, comic accurate and liberal version Oliver Queen start to take shape on the series. "I've said that it's very, very important that if Oliver doesn't take away lessons from Season 5 and doesn't keep doing the things that have led to this catastrophic event, the character stops being interesting to me," Amell explained. "So I hope that part of that, in Season 6 and if we have seasons beyond that, I hope that part of that is we get back to a lot of the tenets that people recognize from the comics. And that of course is humor and a socially conscious, slightly liberal superhero."
While the show is still going strong, some still take issue with Green Arrow acting more like Batman. However, Amell would like to see Oliver's personality start to take on more characterization from the comics. "The comics version, he has some really interesting qualities that make him unique, and I hope we get to explore more of those," he said.
Arrow season six will premiere on The CW Thursday October 12th.
