BATWOMAN: Check Out A First Look At Nicole Kang Suited Up As The CWVerse's New Poison Ivy

The CW has finally revealed Batwoman's take on classic Batman villain Poison Ivy, but how does this iteration compare to those we saw in Batman and Robin and Gotham? You can find that out after the jump...

We've known for a while that Poison Ivy would return to Gotham City in season 3 of Batwoman, but this version is quite a bit different to the one in the comic books.

Some time ago, Mary Hamilton-Kane was infected by one of Batman's missing Bat Trophies (most of which have been used to create new versions of classic villains, presumably because Warner Bros. wants to save the real ones for more noteworthy projects than The CW series). Now, she's going to transform into Poison Ivy in the November 24 episode of Batwoman titled "Pick Your Poison."

"Now that she's been infected by Poison Ivy, the selfless and caring Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) we've come to know and love is taking a backseat to a pernicious and virulent version of herself," reads an official character description. "No longer content with her supporting role on the Bat Team, Poison Ivy Mary uses her newfound powers to stand up, stand out and express her most deeply buried opinions and desires -- regardless of who or what may be in her way."

"But more awaits Mary as her destiny delivers her at the root of her new persona, as she realizes her power bloomed to give life to another... Gotham's long lost and most infamous botanist."

This design is very much in line with the aesthetic of The CWVerse, but might not be what some fans want to see from the iconic villain in live-action. Despite that, we're intrigued to see what actress Nicole Kang does with the rogue, especially as it sounds like this could lead to the real deal's return.

Check out this first look at Batwoman's take on Poison Ivy below:

Since she's not Pamela Isley, it makes sense that her costume would have its own style. However, the style is... eh.

I can't wait to see Matt Reeves' version. Something similar to this would be perfect for the universe that he is creating.

Looks good for being a victim of the real Ivy's machinations behind the scenes. Green, red hair and they even added the monstrous flycatcher plant like in the animated series.

Bridget Regan who was cast as the real Poison Ivy is obviusly being saved for the latter half of S3 so this will be interesting because of the conflict that will burden Ryan and Luke in trying to stop Mary.

Thankfully the show is about to go into it's holiday break, I'll be able to catch up for next year.

I like to try to practice what I preach. I hate when people show up just to talk trash about a show they hate and don't watch. I don't watch Batwoman. Tuned out a handful of episodes into season 1. Came back for season 2 and watched 2 episodes and disliked it so strongly I dropped it.

So I'm definitely not a fan, so I should show up and comment in this.... I'm trying really really really hard not to elaborate on my hatred for this shows creative department... Just giving whole ass characters and powers to other characters....

Ok... imma leave. I really hope the folks who enjoy this show actually really super love it, because while it's important you get your content, unfortunately while THIS exists we don't get a faithful version that is.... well.... better.
