BLACK LIGHTNING Adds Grammy Award-Winning Singer Jill Scott As The Villainous Lady Eve
The CW's Black Lightning has added another musician to its cast in the form of Grammy Award-winner Jill Scott. She'll play DC Comics villain Lady Eve alongside Marvin “Krondon” Jones III as Tobias Whale...
We recently found out that rapper Marvin “Krondon” Jones III will be playing Tobias Whale on The CW's Black Lightning, and now EW reports that he'll be joined by Grammy Award-winning singer Jill Scott as Lady Eve.
In the comics, Eve was a member of the Kobra Cult but it seems this small-screen take on the character will have a slightly different origin:
"Eve will be the bridge between Tobias Whale and a secret group of corrupt leaders. Always a consummate professional, Scott’s onscreen alter ego presents herself in Freeland as the owner of a funeral parlor, but quickly becomes an adversary to Black Lightning"
This actually won't be Scott's first foray into the comic book world as she previously voiced Storm on BET’s short-lived Black Panther animated series in 2010. Her other onscreen credits include Why Did I Get Married, 2012’s Steel Magnolias, and guest turns on Fringe and Being Mary Jane.
Black Lightning will debut in 2018 on The CW.
