In a recent interview with ASSIGNMENT X, Cory Michael Smith, who will play the Riddler In Gotham talks about how he got the role as the Riddler, "My manager set me up with an appointment and they were trying to be really hush-hush and secretive about who the characters were and what the project was," He then continues, "But I went into it knowing what the project was, and I had heard about it, so I was like, “Hey, I would like to audition for the Riddler.”

Smith then talked about how he feels working with Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue, "Donal’s just a champ. He’s a guy who’s incredibly intelligent and is so comfortable in his work and on the set." He then adds, "He exists on a set in a very special way that I hope to emulate eventually in my future, which is, he knows when to joke, he knows how to have fun, he knows when to get serious." As for Ben McKenzie, Smith says he "is a sweetheart. That’s the best word that I can put to it. He’s such a leader. He’s playing the role of the patriarch, he’s making sure everyone’s taken care of and happy, and everyone is being positive, cooperating, collaborating, promoting the show, being positive on set."  As of now, Cory Michael Smith plays Edward Nygma who has not yet grown into 'The Riddler' character yet. Nygma, on Gotham, tells riddles that no one really cares for. I've definitely enjoyed his role on the show so far. Just wish they would make me care more about Gordon. The reason I keep watching is for Penguin and Bullock. And a little bit young Bruce. They're handling him better than I thought they would. But hopefully the show picks up some steam when it comes back. The mid season finale was a little lack luster with how it ended.

I like him so far. he's got that quirky nerdy annoying attitude that absolutley works. They've already made him out to be an outcast in the precinct. Its only a matter of time before he goes over the edge.
