First Look At GOTHAM's 'Arkham Asylum'

We knew that the iconic location would play a role in season one of Gotham, but now a New York hospital has been transformed into Arkham Asylum, the place you have to imagine that many of Batman's future villains will be spending some time during the course of the series.

Thanks to Batman-News (who have a few more photos which you can see by clicking the link below), we have a first look at Gotham's Arkham Asylum. One of their readers sent in some shots of the transformed Bayley Seton Hospital in Staten Island, New York, and the iconic location from the comic book will apparently be introduced in episode four as that's what they were filming when these were taken. Will we also see the introuction of Hugo Strange in this instalment - called "Lavender" - of the new series? Bruno Heller was recently quoted as saying, "Hugo Strange is going to pop up because we're going to start dealing with how Arkham was created and why Arkham was created in the way that it was so, yeah, absolutely. It's a Season One thing because in our telling of it the way Arkham was created and the why and how is one of the causes of the particular criminal climate in Gotham that allowed Batman to happen. The revolving door of Arkham is both a brilliant narrative device because it allows you to -- you don't have to kill people off, you can just put them in cold storage" What do you guys think?

Front gate looks pretty decent, agree with @V8ER....definitely an Arkham Game vibe

As for the Asylum itself....was hoping for an aged gothic/ornate building....looks ok though

Looking forward to this!

The season premiere is up against the Bears vs. Jets on MNF. Gotham is dead already.

@MrBlackjack

That game almost gave me a heart attack with all those jump scares.

But that's an accurate depiction of the front gate as seen in Arkham Asylum. The environment gives me chills.

I love what they did with Arkham Asylum in the animated series. It had a very One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest feel to it.

Hey, it actually looks like a looney bin instead of a gothic castle. Good! Hopefully there are no surprise horse stables on the premises.

@supermanfan
Because why would an insane asylum have a stable full of horses inside the building? Just one of the many retarded aspects of last years' Jokerface story.

Sweet! That logo ressembles the Arkham games... But... Isn't it supposed to be new? Like, Armadeus Arkham just built it now, or something... Why are there dead leaves and stuff? It makes it look old...

I wouldn't want Dormer because I would feel weird being aroused by the Joker.

@MarkyMark: City of Scars is 10x better than what this pile of crap is gonna be.. and that was a FAN FILM! And the best Fox can do.. is give the fans a lame prequel. LAME!
