A new trailer for Peacemaker was released on Friday, and that's now been followed by a featurette better exploring the unique dynamic the title hero shares with Vigilante. The latter is clearly being portrayed in a comedic way in the HBO Max series, which is something that could disappoint some fans.
However, this bizarre "dynamic duo" looks set to be a highlight, and the way Christopher Smith views Adrian Chase doesn't feel all that different to the Bloodsport/Peacemaker relationship in The Suicide Squad (with Chase annoying Smith as opposed to Peacemaker getting on Robert DuBois' nerves).
Chris Conrad was originally cast as Vigilante, but reportedly left Peacemaker over creative differences. As a result, Bridgerton's Freddie Stroma was enlisted to take on the role instead. In the featurette, both Stroma and John Cena discuss this duo and share plenty of new footage from the series.
Our latest look at the show hinted at us getting an in-depth exploration of who Smith really is, so the series won't be all fun and games. Despite his often heinous actions in The Suicide Squad, it's clear Peacemaker isn't all bad, and this show has the chance to better explain what makes him tick.
Peacemaker premieres on HBO Max on January 13.
