Audition Tapes For DC Universe's STARGIRL Tease Wildcat And The JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA
During Comic-Con, we learned a live-action Stargirl series was being developed for the DC Universe streaming service, and now a few audition tapes for the lead role shed some light on the tone of the show.
The upcoming DC Universe streaming service is going to feature plenty of shows for fans to check out, including the live-action Titans series and Young Justice: Outsiders. And as we learned back during Comic-Con, a Stargirl show will also be a part of the list of programs available on the platform.
However, as expected, few details on Stargirl were shared outside of the synopsis. But thanks to some audition tapes discovered by Geeks Worldwide we have an idea of the show's tone and some of the characters that might appear.
These videos reveal that Stargirl will have a lighter tone than what we saw in the first Titans trailer, and based on the dialogue, it sounds like Courtney Whitmore's life as a high school student will be an important element of the story.
Though, what will likely get fans the most excited are the many heroes referenced or featured in the scenes. Among the most notable names are Yolanda Montez, a.k.a Wildcat, and Pat Dugan ("Stripesy").
But if you check out the videos below, you will also hear about other members of the Justice Society of America, such as Hourman and Doctor Mid-Nite.
STARGIRL follows High School sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new DC Universe series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series premiering in 2019, produced by Warner Bros. Television, Mad Ghost Productions and Berlanti Productions.
