The CW Chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz has confirmed today that the network is planning a two-hour crossover event for 2021 which will bring together Superman & Lois and Batwoman. Arrowverse executive producer Marc Guggenheim said a while ago that a smaller event was planned after Crisis on Infinite Earths, and this is clearly it.
Explaining that it would normally happen in December if it wasn't for the COVID-19 production shutdowns, Pedowitz indicated that it will instead air either in the first or second quarter of 2021.
"We’re still working on it," he said of the Superman & Lois/Batwoman event. "It will be a smaller event than usual, we’re only planning a two-hour event. We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There’s a lot of characters coming from our other shows."
Many would argue that the logical move would have been to have a Supergirl/Batwoman crossover, but Superman and Batman are known as the World's Finest, so this does make sense. What will the premise of the event be? We don't know, but don't be surprised if it involves finding Batman.
The Dark Knight's disappearance has been a huge talking point in Batwoman, but remains unresolved. Giving Kate Kane a helping hand from the Man of Steel could help finally change that, though.
What do you guys think?
