After an excellent freshman season, Superman & Lois arrives on Blu-ray next Tuesday, and ahead of the big release, we got an exclusive opportunity to sit down with series stars Jordan Elsass ("Jonathan Kent") and Alex Garfin ("Jordan Kent") to talk about their experience working on the first season and get a few teases about what's to come in season two.
With Supergirl nearing the end of its six-season run, it's fair to wonder whether Jonathan and Alex could ever one-day cross paths with their aunt Kara (Melissa Benoist), who we have to assume they've come to realize is actually the Girl of Steel.
JORDAN: It’d be great, I would love to meet Melissa or Kara in the show, whatever works. That would definitely be something really cool.
ALEX: We are shot very differently than the rest of the Arrowverse, but that doesn’t necessarily rule out any possibilities. I mean honestly, right now the show is existing as a separate entity and we’re telling the story that we want to tell. If that involves doing other things, it involves doing other things, but right now, we’re telling the story that we want to tell and we’re going to continue doing that.
While they haven't encountered Supergirl just yet, they did get to meet one fan-favorite Arrowverse hero when John Diggle (David Ramsey) paid a visit to the Kent family in Smallville, and it sounds like they've taken quite a liking to David Ramsey, who will return as a director in season two.
However, outside of Diggle, there is one DC cast member they'd really love to make an appearance on their show, DC's longest-tenured live-action Man of Steel...
JORDAN: It’s funny because David didn’t come in as only Diggle and make that cameo, but he actually directed 107...
ALEX: He directed 202 too, in fact, we just finished it, so we actually saw the guy yesterday,
JORDAN: Yeah, literally, he’s been around, so he’s not only working as an actor, he’s directing as well. - As far as other characters, would you say there’s any other characters that you can think of… I mean, Tom Welling would be sick!
ALEX: If he can make a cameo, that would be really fun.
JORDAN: That would be awesome!
ALEX: That would be really cool. I don’t know, get Will Smith on too, see if you can do it! *laughs* Bryan Cranston, if I got to meet my hero, I would be very happy.
