THE FLASH Mourn One Of Their Own In New Promo For Episode 14, "Funeral for a Friend" - SPOILERS

After a high-flying final showdown with Deathstorm, Team Flash lost one of their own, and it looks like next week's installment will see everyone do their best to honor their fallen friend.

After terrorizing Central City for four weeks, Deathstorm (Robbie Amell) has finally been defeated, but unfortunately, the toll it took to bring him down proved to be just a little too much as Frost (Danielle Panabaker) - who leveled up to Hellfrost for the battle - died during the hour's closing moments after getting one last look at her sister Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker).

Panabaker will remain on the series as Caitlin and will have a big role throughout the next seven episodes as she grieves the loss of her sister. Speaking to TV Line, she teases Caitlin's status moving forward, “She’s lost so much in her life already, and only recently come to a fairly symbiotic place with Frost. They’ve certainly had their ups and downs over the years, so it’s going to hit Caitlin the hardest. And she’s going to grieve in a variety of different ways, which is realistic and authentic.”

It also sounds like we should expect some possible outbursts. She continues, "There’s denial, anger, resentment…. She’ll probably go through it all before the end of this season."

She also directed episode seventeen this season, which is tentatively scheduled to air on June 1. It'll be the fourth time she's helmed an episode of the series, following "Godspeed" in season five, "License to Elongate" in season six, and "Rayo de Luz" in season seven.

The actress, who's been on the series since the beginning, also expects to return for season nine this fall, although she was a little surprised when it was announced. “I hope to be back. I will say that I was very surprised to see that there was another season. I think that emotionally, I, at least, was planning for Season 8 to be our last. But I’m grateful to the show and to the fans, and hopefully, there’s more story to be told.

Hopefully they drop more dead weight by the end of the season

Really they tried a lot of things with Frost but she was never interesting

Hopefully this give Caitline something to do, she has gotten so little development in her 8 years on the show

Hopefully cecile leaves with joe

No matter what Alegra and chester will probably stick around but really could cut it down to just barry, iris and caitlin and it would improve the show big time

I like what they did with Deathstorm and the design and VFX are good for a TV Budget. But damn, the Team Flash today is just a shadow of what it was in something like season 4. Vibe and Enlongated Man made the difference in the team, Chester and Allegra aren't so good as replacements. Cecile is boring too, I think they should've written out Cecile and Joe. They sidelined Joe and he stop being that important figure.

I dont mean to drop into a thread about something I dont like which is kinda a dick move but can people who been with this show for this long tell me what the appeal is? I have an uncle who likes wverything I like, but loves this, and I just dont get it. The acting is terrible, it’s cheap as [frick], and really quite stupid, in the way shows like Charmed are. And I mean… look at the guy. That’s the dorkiest [frick]ing costume I’ve ever seen. He looks like the 30 yo virgin of the superhero world. I just… dont get it. What do yall think i’m missing, flash fans?

They went all in with the grief ghosts to exploit everyone's own sorrow with losses but my favourite one was Eddie, that one felt like the creepiest and closest to home by the way it taunted Iris.

I liked the parallels of Frost opening up to Caitlin about how powerless she felt in not being able to help her because if she lost her she would be as sad and empty as Cait once said when she went to jail at the same time that Barry and the rest's own grief was being transfered to Deathstorm after being pushed to the edge.

Hell Frost's flaming eyes effect was a cool touch and so was the battle, even if I wished that the battle with Deathstorm lasted as much as Flash vs Despero did earlier in the Season.

Frost died knowing she had accomplished her mission once she opened her eyes to glance at Caitlin being alive before closing them for the final time. No heroic speeches nor sappy last words, it was never her style either so this quiet send off was in-character. A painless death at least.

But damn the ending was sad. :( Between Chillblaine being wrecked and Cecile running to hug a distraught Caitlin that collapsed it was right in the feels.

I do have to highlight how in the end Frost did live up to her former name because this is the first and last time she killed her opponent, when she ripped off the splicer from Deathstorm's chest to absorb all he consumed.

RIP Frost.
