SPOILERS: Savitar's Shocking Origin Story Was Revealed In THE FLASH Last Night

As many of you theorised, last night's episode of The Flash confirmed that Savitar is a time remnant. Created by Barry Allen four years from now when he battles Savitar, the villain left his earlier self to survive and he descended into madness when his friends and family shunned him for not being the real deal. Why they would treat even just a copy of the Scarlet Speedster like that is hard to say!

We also don't know how this corrupted version of Barry got that gruesome scar, but more will hopefully be revealed in the next two weeks. Cisco later explained that neither Savitar nor the time remnant Barry came first as it's a closed loop which is forever in motion. Pretty confusing, right?

Even so, this twist is still very interesting and has taken The Flash in an exciting new direction. It's just a shame that the reveal came so late as you can't help but feel that this is something which should have been explored over more than just a few weeks. Anyway, check out the shocking origin story of the Speed God below and then be sure to head to the comments section to share your thoughts.

Daamn gotta say, i really liked Savitar's origin story!
They pulled an "Interstellar" :P
This kind of connection between cause and effect it's really common in the sci fi genre, because since time isn't linear, we also don't have linear sequence of events.
Savitar created himself, just like mankind saved themselves in Interstellar.
Since we live in a 3-Dimensional environment it's hard for us to understand how this works, but mathematically speaking, we could have infinite number of dimensions, not in real world tho, or at least i don't think so...
I don't know jack shit about these things, but i get nerdgasm everytime, Morrison explored this idea multiple time, especially in Action Comics, and man...that was one helluva story!

As for this episode, it was quite good, reminded me of SV, Grant played a good villain, just like Tom Welling did Ultraman and under the influence of Red K.
Also this episode is VEEEEEEERY similar to "Hex" where Clark loses his memory because of Zatanna:
https//
XD
My only problem is that...this is the second last episode of the season, so...they should not waste time....
Other than that, they proved time and again, that they can build some really cool moments, like those between Barry and Iris!

And if you think about it, it's very sad.
I love Geoff Johns, i loved what he did with Flash, and this is one of those things that i "love to hate", coz he gave Barry a sad origin story.
Eobard changed Flash forever.
Because of Flashpoint, it's clear that Barry can't NEVER have his mother back AND keep everything else.
He just can't.
This is canon everywhere, comics, tv, and now even in the movies.
But there WAS a timeline where he was HAPPY, a timeline where he was Flash, where his mother and father lived a happy life, he was probably still married with Iris and all that.
This is sad, man, f*ck that!... :(

Also, i've been saying this for quite some time, but after watching this episode, i really really really want to see Bart Allen ffs!

@Doomsday8888 -

His origins make no sense though;

- Savitar is a time remnant created by Future Flash to stop Savitar.

Which means;
- Savitar came from nothing, as his existence relies upon him changing the future and being the cause of his own existence. In essence, we still have'nt got the true origin of Savitar unless Savitar exists because of a paradox.

- Savitar does not need to turn this new Barry into him because he comes from a different Barry that already existed and exists regardless of current events

His motivations also make no sense;

- Him wanting to be a god to feel no pain - when he's intentionally causing pain to himself

It's not even time travel rules that are the issue, it's just really dumb writing that contradicts itself every line.

@Scarilian -
1) It's a paradox/loop, yes.
2) Yep, he doesn't need to do that, but he wants to make him suffer.
3) He's crazy, can't really understand his logic, go figure! :P

I am very confused. So he is from the future, but what is he a time remnant of?

Episode was pretty good, but Iris took things back for me. The whole "love" pep talk she gave him was torture to say the least, and her saying she fell in love with him while they were like 7 years old??

By the way, Gustin proved that episode he's a great comedic actor. Serious acting, not too convinced, but he's definitely funny.

@KWilly - haha and she was waaaaay to chatty when they were rushing to save lives... wow she hurts my head. It won't happen now, but I have said in the past, she should be killed off. No one would've expected it, her haters would've loved it and it would've meant so much to the development of Barry and the Wests. Now, it won't happen

Savitar's origin made zero sense, like the time travel rules in this show (since season 1).
