TITANS Season Three Adds Another Robin To The Mix As THE BATMAN's Jay Lycurgo Joins The Cast As Tim Drake

Multiple sources are reporting that up-and-comer Jay Lycurgo (I May Destroy You; Listen) has joined the cast of Titans season three in a recurring role as Tim Drake, a.k.a. the third Robin.

He's being described as "a streetwise kid who’s managed to grow up on the toughest streets without losing his indelible belief in heroism. His easy-going demeanor is backed up by a near-genius mind, a natural detective with a perception of detail far beyond his years. Fans of the “Batman” comics will recall that Drake served with Batman as the third Robin."

While Lycurgo doesn't have any major credits to his name just yet, the news of his Titans casting has also revealed that he will appear in a supporting role in Matt Reeves' The Batman, which will star Robert Pattinson (TenetThe Lighthouse) as the titular Dark Knight, next year. Further details are currently unavailable, but Variety isn't ruling out the possibility of him playing Drake in both projects, although that's an extreme longshot at best, so take it with a grain of salt.

With Barbara Gordon (Samantha Welch) and Scarecrow also expected to appear along with the formal debut of the Red Hood (Curran Walters), it seems as though the upcoming season will really double down on exploring the Bat-family side of things as Nightwing (Brenton Thwaites) reassesses the future of his team following the loss of Donna Troy (Conor Leslie).

Filming is currently underway on season three, and is expected to last until at least mid-June barring any further pandemic-related delays, which means the new season could premiere exclusively on HBO Max before the end of this calendar year.
