Strigoi will be the new zombies if the show catches on. Might be too creepy, though.

Too bad John Hurt had to drop out. Reading the books I'd pictured him as Setrakian immediately.

So, how long til Ron Perlman shows up, ya think?

I think Perlman was too busy to play the Master, and just too old to play Fet, but he'll turn up sooner or later. I wonder who (or what) Doug Jones is playing. Quinlan?

Never heard of this Graphic Novel but the show looks decent enough to give it a shot! Summer doesn't have that many great shows on anyways.

Read the novels they're great and perfect for a limited 3 series tv run. Teaser looks good, better than Constantine, Flash or Gotham Lite.

@SupaMan: That's because The Strain is a real book with no pictures. Adults read them sometimes.

"Here's a portion of a screencap from a sneak peek at the preview of the teaser for the trailer that's a portion of the promo reel from the pilot episode of a TV series. Go nuts, fanboys."

I think this should be good. Getting to see more of a real take on vampires is going to be good. Hopefully it will make people forget about the abominations that Twilight brought onto the world.

The opening to this book, which you see there on the plane, was amazing. Sucks you right in. But the book takes a drastic dive as it goes along. They should have turned this into a hard r-rated film and taken some artistic liberties to improve on the story instead of making a series or mini-series or whatever this will end up being.

Books were good-Del Toro actually started them as a screenplay and fleshed them out with Chuck Hogan. I have the comics but haven't read them yet, if people can get through the first few episodes it should pick up but you know how people need to see the monster right away and aren't much interested in the mystery.

@RexDartEskimoSpy Doug Jones will be playing one of the Ancients.

And Quinlan is being played by a Canadian actor.
