This has pretty much been GoT's style: Remain consistently watchable, then kick it into high gear towards the end.

I'm enjoying season 5, but its no wonder why people feel its lesser than previous seasons. Cersei and Margaery are just spinning their wheels in a storyline with brand new villains. The Faith Militant is a great storyline IMO but its hard to believe that they'll be players in anything but Cersei V Margaery. The whole new Dornish location has barely been given 10 minutes the entire season, and the coincidental actions of Jaime and the Sand Snakes felt weak. Finally, Tyrion is largely just en route between important locations for him.

Meanwhile, Jon Snow has finally become a badass. The politics of the Night's Watch is finally of interest, including interaction with the Wildlings and Stannis. The Bolton's scheming & the impending weather V Stannis promises to have an exciting conclusion. And, finally, Daenerys is losing power left and right, making her future seem uncertain and dramatic.

Great ending to this episode. Finally some justice! And while every season has been a slow burn, this season has definitely been the slowest. It still is some of the best TV out there, though. I think some people just don't have the attention span for shows like this.

I have no issue with the slow burn build up this season. There's been plenty of character development, intertwining story lines & the story is straying far enough away from the source material to keep me on my toes. Also, Bronn living & getting to see dem Sand Snake tittays & Cersei finally having some karma bite Her in her ass was a nice payoff

Don't worry, the show will most likely end in season 7
7 books, 7 kingdoms, 7 Gods(new) 7 seasons.

TheLurker
TheLurker - 5/24/2015, 9:20 PM
@Ramiel...well, that depends on what you mean by like. I'd like to tap that Cersei ass, but I'm not family, so surely she wouldn't be interested. Other than that, I hope she rots in that cell just long enough for Qyborn to finish her "unbeatable champion"

After further consideration, I do have one major issue with this show...Gotta re-cast Daenarys with someone willing to "fulfill" the demands of the role if ya know what I mean

Ahh I was so satisfied when Cersie was thrown in prison. So religion in Westeros wants to play the Game of Thrones as well.

Them Dorne tits though.

So what are some predictions for episode 9, we all want a big payoff for the slow cooker of a season, but I'm having trouble thinking as to what large event occurs. Thoughts?

Is it as simple as that Cersei scene that puts warmth in all our hearts or could it be something more?

Best episode of the season, possibly the series. we got some awesome Stannis action, a great, heartfelt goodbye to the Targarayen advisor, we got Sam with some awesome action (both in the blacksmith place and the bedroom.), Ceresi getting justice, Little Finger up to his usual antics, Bronn and Jamie getting a couple awesome scenes in Dorne, and MY TWO FAVORITE CHARACTERS FINALLY MEETING!!!!!!

The Sansa stuff, while, sad and tragic, was pretty great stuff in terms of character development. It's funny, practically every one of my favorite characters got to shine this week, except the Starks. Jon was barely in it, Arya was nowhere to be found, and Sansa is suffering. Next week seems to be more Stark focused though, so it's cool.

Next week could top it. My four favorite characters appear to have major roles in the episode, and Ceresi is getting what she deserves.

It's been a slow burn season, sure. But I'm alright with it, drama is great. I prefer great drama over fast seasons. The 5th season might be me favorite just because of this episode. Wow.

This season has been really slow, but it's really picked up in the last 2 episodes. At first i was like 'meh don't care what happens next' but i just want next weeks episode here now. Finally Cersei got what she deserved!!!!
