Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues. It stretches from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues, to the vast and savage eastern lands, where a young queen raises an army. All the while, in the frozen north, an 800-foot wall of ice precariously protects the war-ravaged kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all play the 'Game of Thrones.' An original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.

She's that one chick that showed her boobs.

....I joke, but I bet if we saw them, we'd all probably be like "oh I remember her"

I absolutely hate how GoT did the whole Jon Snow death thing. Just struck me as really lazy and out of character for how the show has been written. The whole "Oh he's dead" then "Oh wait no he's not!" plot device is old, cliche, and a real discredit to what I would argue is quite posssibly the best show ever. Really lowers the stakes too, even if this is how things turn out in the book I don't like it. If someone dies then leave them dead, simple as that.

@CallMeColossus - Huh? Lazy and out of character? That's how it happens in the books and that's how it's meant to be. Jon's death (and possible resurrection - who knows) is going to be a pivotal plot point in the series of ASIaF, so...I don't get your point...

@CallMeColossus - its not lazy, its kind of the rosetta stone to figuring out " oh most other major characters have died and been resurected by the three eyed crow as well"

there are the seven deaths, all also which are berics deaths.

if one of the main characters received this treatment they died and came back. (its not so apparent because some events like briennes hanging arent covered on the show)

its about ragnarok. the white walkers and the dragons are going to fight humanity. I dont think thats low stakes at all. fire and ice monsters fighting demi gods for the fate of the world.

you know nothing jon snow

@RandalCabbage - I didn't remember ever saying ragnarok is low stakes. Allowing any main character to be resurrected DBZ style is low stakes.

@CallMeColossus - im pretty sure norse legend existed long before dragonball z.

well in this case its actually arthurian myth of the ebony blade. (theres tons of paralells between merlin and the 3 eyed crow)

in carrying black sword made from meteor that landed near starfall (in both stories) you could not die from being stabbed as long as you carried it. you could die from being beheaded or burned though. (in arthur myth)
heck even the black knight in marvel stories carries "the ebony blade" has many of these traits.

its not lazy writing, or low stakes. george martin is writing a stories that combines countless myths overlaped in a war of the roses type story.

almost everyone will die by the end, ragnarok is preceeded by a winter that wipes out half the worlds population, followed by the war.

also, fun fact here. the world valar in lord of the rings means demi god or angel loosley - the same as vanir in norse mythology.

valar margulis - all (demi) gods must die. ;)
