HOUSE OF THE DRAGON Season 2 Set Video Reveals A Major SPOILER

Production is now underway on the second season of HBO's House of the Dragon in Spain, and thanks to WatchersOnTheWall.com, we have a first look at some revealing photos and a video from the set.

Be warned: if you haven't read George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, major spoilers follow from this point on.

The photos and video show a huge blue dragon prop (CGI will be used to create a severed dragon head) being paraded through the streets in a bloody cart as the crowd cheers. When the director calls action, someone can be heard shouting, "Behold! The traitor dragon Meleys — slain at Rook’s Rest for your king! For Aegon!”

Yes, the mighty Meleys will fall in battle at some point during season 2 when she faces off against fellow fire-breathers Sunfye and Vhagar, and her rider, Rhaenys (Eve Best), will most likely be killed as well (the body discovered in the book was too burned to identify, but the show probably won't be quite as ambiguous).

Check out the video at the link below.

We recently learned that House of the Dragon season 2 will consist of 8 episodes - 2 fewer than the critically-acclaimed debut season, which concluded last November.

Apparently, "a portion of the plot originally intended for Season 2, including a major battle," is now being saved for season 3. If we had to hazard a guess, this confrontation is likely the culmination of the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, which will see two major characters clash in a mid-air skirmish.

A premiere date for House of the Dragon season 2 has yet to be announced.

At least there is one good fantasy show currently airing. Can’t wait for season 2!

@JobinJ - It was the most watched fantasy show of 2022. So yeah I’d say that quite a few people are watching it.

Better than Rings of Power, The Witcher, and the other fantasy adaptations out there right now.

I’d say the first season was better than the first season of Game of Thrones. The book is completed so the show runners won’t have to make stuff up like what happened in Game of Thrones.

It’s great. Highly recommend!
