Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin was among the many people blown away by Sunday's episode of Breaking Bad.

In a blog, Martin wrote,"Amazing series. Amazing episode last night. Talk about a gut punch,...Walter White is a bigger monster than anyone in Westeros. (I need to do something about that)."

With most of Martin's characters doing their worst and fan favorite characters not making it to the end of books, imagine what he might want to do. Can he top the "Red Wedding"?

The author also went on to predict his HBO series' chances against Breaking Bad for the Emmy Awards. "This is the final season of BREAKING BAD. I think GAME OF THRONES may have a shot at upsetting BB for this year's Emmy (only a shot, though, I think they are the clear favourite), which pits us against their previous season... but there's no way in hell that anyone is going to defeat BREAKING BAD next year, when their last season is the one in contention," Martin wrote.

"Our profile is likely as high as it is ever going to be. We had a great season. If the Academy is ever going to give their ultimate accolade to a fantasy show (something that is by no means certain), it's going to be this year, I think," Martin wrote.

I personally cannot wait until next season. What do you think George R.R. Martin will have in store for the final book series?

Petyr Baelish is monsterish enough as it is, and we still have no idea what his long term goals are

game of thrones & breaking bad are the best shows on tv. at some point one or the other is the best show on tv because they aired at different times of the year.

Walter White is a great character because he's not inherently evil..he becomes evil, transforms slowly but surely into a monster.

The pretense of doing all for his family is a lost ideal due to how Walter devolves from a kind, thoughtful teacher into a drug making, murdering criminal mastermind.

Breaking Bad is easily one of the greatest tv series ever to be created. End.

I don't see Walter as a monster. And what he said to his wife on the phone was so his wife would not be implicated in his crimes and possibly so their son would not think his mom was apart of it.

@Dmon
Dude..he let a young woman choke to death on her vomit when he could have saved her life.
He intentionally poisoned a small child.
He has personally killed a handfull of people or been directly responsible for their deaths.
His wife deserves to go down with him for being apart of it all.
Helping her get out also adds up to one thing...he's bad.
A true monster.

I thought the last season of GOT was not as good as the previous seasons, minus the red wedding. I feel BB is the superior show, but not by much.

@sameoldthing That young woman would have been the death of Jesse as a result of heroine he allowed it to happen to save his surrogate son. He took no pleasure in it and has tortured him since. People allow other people to die all the time it does not make them monsters.

He knew it was slow acting and the child would not die. It is actually common for kids to swallow things like that and in this day in age make it to the hospital in time and he did it out of desperation to save his own family.

The people he has killed were not good people. All his killings have been in kill or be killed situations. Sorry to me only the killing of an innocent is murder.

A monster is one who kills innocents, who is a sexual predator, tortures, or eats people. Walter White is none of those things and everything he has done has been for his survival or the people he cares about's survival.

Walter White reminds me of the comic book villain Captain Cold, he is a quote Bad guy yes but he is not a monster.
