So of all the news that has surrounded the Watchmen with the trial in all. I'm getting kind of scared. I mean maybe I am just paranoid. I have been waiting for this movie ever since I first read the graphic novel. I hope that this movie will be released, preferably March 6 but who knows.

What do you think about this crazyness?

I second that Ror! He's cool. With his Irish drinkery, how stereotypical. but still, i'll share a drink with you sir!

As for the scariness that has befelled Watchmen...Meh. One way or the other it's going to come out, maybe we have to wait a few months for it...It's already been 20+ years ya know? So what's a few more months added to it. Personally, I don't care. The graphic novel is amazing, and whether the movie comes out or not...I don't mind. All of this controversy will be dust in the wind in just a few short months anyway. So why fret?

If it comes out, AWESOME. It looks great and I think it will be amazingly well recieved. If it doesn't, i'll just go and read the book again if I want a Watchmen fix. There have been tons of movies i've been waiting decades for, and if I have to wait a little longer, that's fine. I have an immense amount of patience that could be used waiting on comic book adaptations. Instead of slinging them in my face lazily every few months.

Especially these indy comics, WTF?! I want my GL films brought to the big screen. That's right, I said MY GL FILMS, i wrote the plots for them on the Book of Oa site if you're interested. Yes, OMG, it's a trilogy. Imagine that.

Anyway;
1, 2, FOX is coming for you.
3, 4, they're a big money whore.
5, 6, WB poked with sticks.
7, 8, should have got the legal crap straight.
9, 10, WATCHMEN gets read again.

OH YEA. BTW, can I get your phone number Comic? If that's a Simpsonized characture of yourself ya got there. I dig it. Kinda HoT.

No, really, i'm just joking and don't want to offend (too much)...Maybe I should NOT be drinking whilst writing comments.

Although, there aren't a lot of females putting in their perspective on the whole comicbook adaptation deal. I want more female opinion on the situation.

I'll have a drink too...

Hey Comic will you join us drinking?

Lol, Ion, guess I'll have to break open my bottle of Hypnocil, that way Fox won't be able to get me. Although Booze and Hypnocil could be dangerous...

This movie will definitely come out, too many people want to see it. Even if Fox is that stuck up to not let it be shown, there will be a bootleg version leaked somewhere (either from Snyder, the editing team, the producer, WB, someone will let it see light of day), get a bittorrent program and wait for it. Once it gets out to the internet it will be impossible to control.

And I do agree with Ion, I vote yes, on more female opinions and presence in comicbookmovie.com

haha. Thanks guys on the attention. And Ion, yes that is me in the Simpson pic. And sorry guys, I don't drink.

I have been trying to think of some topics to put my female perspective on but I have been very busy lately with the holidays in all, but once school starts again for me I will (believe it or not) have more time to write my opinions on things.

But for the Watchmen debate. I don't know what to think. I am still in the blue. I remember one morning waking up and logging in and seeing that maybe my dear watchmen movie wont be released or be released at a later date. I have a feeling that the movie will be released as scheduled but you never know. I mean this movie better come out because I am making a Silk Spectre costume for the opening and I am also to excited about this movie. I don't want my hopes to be dragged through the mud.
sigh.
...at least Wolverine movie is still coming out.

But if anyone has any ideas on topics that I could talk about, let me know.

Silk Spectre....Yowza! That makes my whole phone number deal above, a little more plausible.

Hypnocil. AHAHAHAHAHA. I bet that and booze make an AWESOME combination. You won't be dreaming, but you'll definitely be out cold.

Don't worry ComicMans. It WILL be out. I would put my official guarantee seal on that...If I had an official guarantee seal...or something to stamp it on...Oh well. But anyway, it's coming out, one way or another. Count on it. Whether it's actually in March or not, is debatable. I feel, that if it IS postponed, it will be the July or Holiday 2009 movie. I think that would be there way of making the most money, seeing as how Wolverine will be the opening movie season, they'll keep Watchmen for the summer slowdown or the big box office draw at the end of the year.

As big of douches FOX Corp is, they do have some intelligence somewhere in there little hive mind. So I would surmise that's the plan. IF they do delay the release.

As for topics you can rant about...Hmmm, let's see. How about...Why there are NO UGLY Superheroes. Male or Female. I heard someone say it was "hard" to draw ugly people...I think it was Ror actually, but don't quote me on that. But I find that just terribly hard to believe.

You could comment on...Dualities. Ya know, Superhero/Villain opposites.

Batman/Joker
Superman/Lex Luthor
Hal Jordan/Sinestro
Captain America/Red Skull
Iron Man/Mandarin
Wolverine/Sabretooth
Cable/Stryfe
Aquaman/Black Manta

etc etc

Why they are good or bad arch nemesis, and if they're fight is still relevant in today's world. Especially when it comes to Captain America/Red Skull and Iron Man/Mandarin, since they're political.

Also, you could do a piece on why this John Stewart figure I have looks like Green Lantern Barack Obama. It's kind of amusing actually. I'll think of some more topics for ya...As soon as I actually do some work, while i'm here at work.

lmao...ion you crack me up. i do indeed perpetuate my own negative stereotype...but its not all irish that drink alot..just me!...and my family..and my friends..and all the leprechauns! hahaha..ok enough of that.

i also agree there needs to be more females on this site...just so they can bask in the glow of our geekiness!
IonParallax
IonParallax - 1/2/2009, 5:37 PM
Ah yes, the revalry that is our male-dominated geekiness. My dad sent me a box over the Holidays that had 9 3in Lantern figures in it and I was asked where I was going to put them...Because God forbid I display them in our home...How nerdy would that be?

So naturally I brought them here to work, so I can enjoy them 9 hours a day without them interfering with home-life. Although I do have a Hal Jordan action fig, and a 200 pc model of the Enterprise NX-01, and NOW a collectors PEZ set with the original cast of Star Trek to display in our home office. Talk about dorkdom...Ha, I rule at it.

I'm glad i'm decently attractive, lord knows what I'd be doing with my spare time if I were ugly and had no sex appeal whatsoever. Man, that would suck.

Oh yea, those damned Leprechauns get on my nerves sometimes...Damned rainbows and magic and trying to taunt me with their freakin' pot o gold. Well how about I shove that Blarney Stone up your tiny little ass you little SOB! OK, way too far there. Going to have a smoke now.

Keep up the good work Comics. Much enjoyed topics here at "The Female Perspective" >=)

ComicMans1234 - 1/2/2009, 9:08 PM
hahaha...Thats so funny that you say that you got a PEZ collection of the original star trek characters b/c that is exactly what I got my father for christmas because him and I are big star trek fans.

My dorkdom is right up there with the rest of you all. i feel like I can fit right in, ha.

Don't worry more topics will come But kept the converse going. I love debating comics and the movie adaptations.
