Filmmaker Zack Snyder, whose 300 comes out March 9, has signed a 2-year first-look deal with Warner Bros. that includes the long-awaited Watchmen film.

Watchmen is in pre-production on the gritty super-hero film, based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' iconclastic maxi-series.

In the series, costumed super-heroes try to solve the mystery of who is killing off them off one by one while dealing with a federal government that is attacking civil liberties and requiring them to reveal their secret identities.
