Agatha remains one of Marvel Studios' most intriguing upcoming projects, particularly with it serving as a follow-up to 2021's critically acclaimed WandaVision (and, to a lesser extent, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness).
Nexus Point News has today shared new intel on the show's characters, starting with Joe Locke's Billy. They believe the plan is to reveal his true identity as the teenage son of Wanda Maximoff later in the series, making it a huge moment for non-comic book readers.
Aubrey Plaza is Rio Vidal, one of Agatha's antagonists, while Patti LuPone is Lilia Calderu, Sasheer Zamata is Jennifer Kale, and Ali Ahn is Alice Wu.
Miles Guiterrez-Riley, meanwhile, is said to be playing Eddie, Billy's boyfriend. Likely to disappoint fans is the fact it doesn't sound like he has any connection to Teddy Altman, a.k.a. Hulking. Perhaps we'll meet him down the line; then again, it could be that Bruce Banner's son first introduced in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is an amalgam of Teddy and Skaar.
We'll see, but Paul Adelstein and Maria Dizzia have reportedly been tapped to play Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan, Billy's "parents."
As for The Salem Saven, they're "the daughters of the witches Agatha killed in WandaVision" and can supposedly turn into animals. According to the site, the actors and animals in question are Okwui Okpokwasili/Cicada, Bethany Curry/Crow, Athena Perample/Fox, Marina Mazepa/ Snake, Britta Grant/Rat, Chau Naumova/Coyote, and Alicia Vela-Bailey/Owl.
More minor character details can be found at the site, but of particular interest is their update on Evan Peters' Ralph Bohner.
"Yes, Evan Peters is returning as Ralph Bohner. No, they are not retconning anything about his character in Agatha," the site claims. "I know many people were disappointed with the reveal of Peters as Ralph Bohner and they wanted him to be Quicksilver desperately, however it seems like Marvel is sticking to their plan to keep him as Ralph. His appearance is also very short."
That might go down as one of the biggest wasted opportunities in MCU history.
"I wish I could tell you anything. I can tell you that it's pretty fan- fabulous, I'm going to say that," Kathryn Hahn recently said of her MCU return. "I was going to say fantastic, but then I decided to go with fabulous."
"It's an amazing cast. I’m in awe of everyone’s work in this show and I think people are going to be surprised," she continued. "I don't - I think they're gonna think it's one way and, of course, it's gonna go a million different avenues kinda like WandaVision."
Agatha is rumoured to premiere on Disney+ this September.
