With Phase 3 about to begin, Marvel Studios is clearly setting their sights on the 'frand finale' of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or at least as we may know it!) and with that comes big expectations. What will they bring in? What will they omit? We obviously don't know but here's 5 things I want to see in the epic two-part film event!

5. Flesh Out The Thanos/Drax Rivalry

Looking back at the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline it was clear that Marvel hadn't found a real story to tell with Drax the Destoryer. He was almost a mindless brute, and was teamed up with the Hulk to fight Thanos. While cool in a sense, the comics have expanded on Drax's long running feud with the Mad Titan. The 2008 comics relaunch of the Guardians of the Galaxy comic and the storyline The Thanos Imperative have since given the two more background and reason to be killing eachother.

If Marvel is going to deliver on the idea of adapting the Infinity Gauntlet storyline then they need to embrace the newer stories and incorporate this fierce rivalry instead of this...

4. Kill Half The Universe!

This one is simple, in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline Thanos kills half the universe with the flick of a finger. Some comic book movies simply show destruction for the sake of mindless destruction; but it would be great to see Marvel show the ramifications of half the universe disappearing. Show planes going down, cars crashing into buildings, people distraught and in fear. They ought to show things as a major disaster while also giving emotional context and stakes to the whole ordeal.

3. Bring In Other Villains

While it is easy to focus on Thanos as the only villain in Infinity War, I'd also say that there's a few villains that we'll undoubtebly see and others we should see. Nebula is a shoe-in, Loki is likely. I would like to see Marvel introduce Mephisto and use him in the film. Red Skull is still out there. fellow CBM user (and my Three Angry Nerds co-host) DrDoom mentioned the idea of having the real Mandarin cause chaos on Earth while everyone is fighting Thanos and company in space.

Regardless, it should be more than just Thanos vs. The Avengers. Give us something more.

2. Give Us The Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War Storylines

When you think about it, Infinity War is just as great of a storyline as The Infinity Gauntlet. It deals with a Marvel universe that now has to decide what to do with the Infinity Gems. Now, I won't spoil that here but it does create Magus, which is the evil persona of Adam Warlock. Not only does the story incorporate some cool  twists on the Gauntlet storyline, but it gives readers an exciting conflict with Magus. Marvel ought to make Part 1 an adaption of The Infinity Gauntlet and make Part 2 an adaption of Infinity War. It would give fans a truly comprehensive and rewarding experience.

1. Adam Warlock

A bit obvious here, but we need to see Adam Warlock in the MCU. He's the one who stops Thanos in The Infinity Gauntlet, and ultimately plays a big role in Infinity War. No matter how Marvel chooses to adapt the storylines, it's clear that Warlock has to play a role.

That's it! What do you want to see in INFINITY WAR? Sound off in the comments section.

I would love to see the Thanos and Drax conflict, but they'd have to give Drax a major buff before they unleash him on the Mad Titan. Seriously, he got his ass handed to him by Ronan and that guy is nothing compared to Thanos. Hopefully they'll include some more backstory for Drax and make it so that he was modified and trained to take down Thanos, just like in the comics.

I would love for Drax to defeat Thanos, but I fear the former is nothing more than a secondary support character in the films.

@DeusExSponge As I recall, Ronan left Drax to drown in a pool of Celestial spinal fluid in GotG - They could easily retconn that to having a dramatic effect on Drax's strength and durability between Gaurdians 1 & 2..

TheDuchess - I think you're on to something there! Now that would be a great way of giving Drax a buff and would take a small amount of time to explain it.

Ronan handle Drax like a dead baby. He shouldn't be able to see Thanos about nothin.

By warlock if you mean the Vision then sure. Willing to bet money warlock doesnt show up at all. These movves have reworked everything to fit within the MCU. Why is it that comicbook centric people cant seem to accept that the movie only take inspiration from the comics and nothing more. Jesus H.

DeusExSponge- ive said it multiple times but to give drax a power boost they could have him presumed dead in GOTG2 on some random planet then in the after credits scene he is found by cronos and the mentor who sensing his rage against thanos give him the power to kill him truly making him the destroyer.

Adam Warlock is a must for these films. I am worried that like @Lazetblazer said, the Vision will replace warlock in the movies as the "hero" of the tale. Having said that I am excited!

Right on, can't wait for Infinity Wars.... Warlock is a must and Thanos needs to stand up, soon.

It would be awesome to see Red Skull in modern times too

I want to see the Avengers team up with Hellboy to stop this purple fake Hellboy who's been appearing at the mid credits of these Avenger films & in GOTG.

Also I hope Iron Fist never shows up in the MCU & if he does purple Hellboy gives him a cruel violent death.

Wait that was Drax who teamed up with Hulk in Infinity Gauntlet?

I had no idea who that was. I didn't know who most of the characters were mainly because I know next to nothing about Marvel's cosmic universe.

But I knew Spider-Man. And Dr Doom. And Captain America. And Hulk. And Wolverine. And Silver Surfer. And Thanos.

Think that's about all I knew in the book.

I think you are spot on. I hope we will get to see Adam Warlock at some point before Infinity Wars rolls out. He's such a cool character and he's central to all of the cosmic portions to the Marvel Universe.

I've convinced myself Warlock is dead. We'll see Magus, but Warlock's gone.

I'm not sure about Warlock Anymore. I feel Vision might take his role or Magus. I men they did do Ultron without Pym.(Even though that's Edgar's fault)

And wiping out half the galaxy is too much. Xandar is F***ed though
