AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D's Ratings Reach Their Lowest Point Yet

After ten episodes Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has yet to stabilize in ratings as the show dropped a bit more than anticipated.

While The show writing and plot has been definitely getting better and better, the same cannot be said about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D rating.

After a decent boost episode 9 "Repairs" has gotten, reaching a respectable 2.5, yesterday's episode has, unfortunately, seen another drop, and scored the show's lowest share of 2.0 in the 18-49 demographic.

While the show definitely gets some boosts in the +7 DVR ratings, it is still worrying to see that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D has not stabilized yet.

Fans of the show should not be worried though, as Coulson and his team managed to come in a confident second place in the same hour, ahead of The Biggest Loser. Add to to that the fact that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is still considered a big win for ABC who always struggled with the 18-49 male demographic.

:/ I just wish they would use some comic characters. Some heroes and villains not made up [frick]ing characters.

I cringed SO HARD and almost didn't want to watch any more when they did the whole "He's right behind me, isn't he?" bit. I'm really trying to figure out how the writers of something as funny and great as Dr.Horrible can be behind this. The set ups for the jokes, heck the jokes themselves are like they're written for an 8 year old to enjoy. They are SO cliche and it KILLS me. The MCU movies are wonderful because we have Coulson being the cool and calm funny guy. You've also got RDJ improvising most of his lines, and this is where all the good comedy comes from, but that's mostly where it ends. They understand that the movies are an action, adventure movie first and foremost. That's what most of us I think are expecting from this show. But when you've got almost every character on the team, trying to be the funny guy...it's too much!

I desperately, truly want to love the hell out of this show, but if they continue to pepper bad comedy throughout the episodes, I'm afraid it's just going to keep losing viewers.

I absolutely LOVE comments like yours. Sooo matter of fact when you clearly have no clue. It's like as generic an opinion can get.

Anyways, the show IS getting better but I'm seriously at the point where I forget that it's even on. It's not must see TV like Arrow is. On Arrow I know that I get a new character from the comics introduced almost every week. I know that there's nothing to see on SHIELD besides an intriguing 1 minute teaser at the very end that gives some (vague) insight into Coulsen's whole deal. I still have faith however. Can't wait to see how it all ties into Captain America: The Winter Soldier in April.

At the start of the season:
12.12 million viewers, 4.7 in the key demo

Midseason finale:
5.92 million viewers, 2.0 in the key demo

This is both the most hyped and ultimately the most disappointing network show in a couple of years . Clearly the Disney marketing machine did it's job, but the directing, writing and performances have not held their end of the bargain.

There's no [frick]ing point to this show at all. I love the hell out of Coulsen but he should have stayed dead, and whatever stupid reason they give is going to seem forced to me.

I'd rather watch a Netflix Daredevil look for his ass with both hands in the dark than another minute of AoS!

I think the ratings reflect the story arc, they seem to be all over the place.

I can't believe I'm hearing the implied conspiracy of not posting good things about AOS on a MARVEL-DRIVEN web site. Anything related to MARVELstudios is handed down from the Heavens around here. So, it is highly unlikely that positive AOS stats were omitted in villainous fashion.

Anyway...
