Parminder Nagra Debuts As An Inhuman-Hating Senator In This New AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Sneak Peek

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took a break this week, but it'll be back next Tuesday with a brand new episode. In this first clip from "Uprising", we're introduced to Parminder Nagra as Senator Rota Nadeer...

On the next episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., a series of blackouts herald the emergence of a mysterious new enemy who seems determined to wipe out the Inhuman "menace".

In this clip, Coulson, Mack and Fitz tune into a broadcast featuring Senator Rota Nadeer (new recurring guest star Parmider Nagra), who is worried about the emergence of the Inhuman population and is fiercely opposed to them being given any more rights. Something tells me her agenda doesn't end there, however.

“Uprising” – As Coulson, Mack and Fitz attempt to track down and neutralize a rogue group looking to end Inhuman Registration worldwide, Simmons and Dr. Radcliffe only have hours to save May before she succumbs forever to her mysterious illness, on “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” TUESDAY, OCTOBER 11 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on the ABC Television Network.

I really wish they'd not pursue this angle. There are so many better things they could have explored with AoS. Inhumans and Mutants occupy two different places in the Marvel U. Yes they have similar premises but the execution of those premises is completely different. One is a secret society that was created through alien genetic manipulation whose members live apart from humanity in a mysterious city - complete with a royal family. The other is the next stage of human evolution whose members spontaneously pop up within the ranks of humanity. Inhumans have their own culture, technology, language, religion, and way of life. Inhumans are akin to Atlantis. Mutants come from whatever human culture they were a part of before their mutation emerged - so essentially Mutants are still human. Those distinctions are what make those characters unique. Otherwise why have a distinction at all? I mean aside from the fact that FOX owns the movie rights to Mutant related things.

Hollywood sure is loving them Indian women. I can't say that I blame them.

That's actually slightly disappointing because I wanted her as Topaz. Especially since with the Darkhold appearing, I'm hoping more and more that she and Jack Russell show up at some point in the season.

Still disappointing that there is this world wide Inhuman phenomenon, yet no mention of it anywhere else in the MCU. The last episode should be a crazy reveal that all of AOS was Coulsons' hopes and dreams in a flash before he dies scenario. Don't want it at all, but it just throws continuity out the window if nothing that has happened in the show is ever acknowledged in any of the greater universe. Eh, maybe I'm just hoping for too much. Still love all aspects of the MCU, just wish it was more cohesive.

@BassMan - It doesn't have to be full-blown Lost. It could be more Dallas.

Like Agents has been a coma dream that Coulson has had during his years of unconsciousness, hearing and incorporating the news and people who have visited his secret hospital room. That way Agents can still operate as a very loose continuity (like Skye/Daisy becoming an agent and an Inhuman) but without every detail being important.

@Spock0Clock - Not a bad idea really. I'd really like some explanation, but oh well :-/

Look they need masses of new gifted's to make the storyline work. That means either mutants or inhumans. They can't use mutants so there is no choice. Whine at Fox if you simply have to vent.
