DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Rumor Suggests One Key Comic Book Location Will Be Missing From The Series

A new Daredevil: Born Again rumour claims that at least one key Hell's Kitchen location from the comic books will not be present in the Disney+ series as Matt Murdock embarks on a new career path...

While Daredevil: Born Again is expected to be loosely connected to Netflix's Daredevil, it's become apparent Marvel Studios isn't going to be beholden to creative decisions made by the now-defunct Marvel Television.

We've seen at least one major character recast, while plenty of familiar faces are set to return. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law established that the MCU's Man Without Fear is quite a bit more powerful, and we're expecting to see a fresh take on the hero on Disney+.

Unfortunately, one reliable scooper claims that's going to mean saying goodbye to at least one iconic location: Nelson and Murdock (or Nelson, Murdock and Page as it was later known).

Elden Henson is expected to at least make a cameo appearance in this revival, though this rumour reveals that Matt's new law firm is now called Murdock & Associates. It appears Kirsten McDuffie will be his new law partner and, while it's a shame to see Foggy sidelined, the friendship is one that only has so much mileage.

Many of you will be understandably disappointed by this news but here's hoping Marvel Studios finds a good way to explain Foggy's absence from Hell's Kitchen.

The cast of Daredevil: Born Again includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, and Clark Johnson have all been cast in undisclosed roles.

Michael Cuesta has been tapped to helm the first episode of the series, while Clark Johnson, Jeffrey Nachmanoff, and David Boyd are among those also set to lend their directing talents to the Disney+ series.

A premiere date hasn't been revealed, but we're optimistic that Daredevil: Born Again will arrive on Disney+ next year despite the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Everyone complained about Foggy with the Netflix show and now he’s gone. Be careful what you wish for

@PlusUltra - I'm just going to sit back and enjoy that we got Cox and D'onofrio back. I swear it's going to be torn apart even for something as minor as a scene not being lit correctly.

@MCUKnight11 - It’s got get torn apart by some for strictly being Disney+ show. On the flip side, they’ve got quite a bit to live up to. The Netflix show wasn’t this flawless work of art revisionists like to now make it out it was, but it was still high tier as far as superhero shows go

Question;

If a rumor turns out to be true, does that make it a spoiler?

🤔

@LSHF - Depends if in the context of the story its meant to be a surprise.

@LSHF - Not in this case I'd say. But if we got a set pic of the new placard saying "Murdock and Associates" it would probably be considered a spoiler.

''we're expecting to see a fresh take on the hero on Disney+.''

Fresh like the milk that was left in the open for a month.

Pour one out for the Avocados at Law

Matt and Foggy have broken up time and again so it’s nothing new. Still think he should show up though

Dissapointing news because their friendship always is a highlight and some of the things that matter the most to Matt. He's been through a lot and Foggy is always there.

When Mark Waid was writing Daredevil about 8 years ago Matt was there for Foggy when he was diagnosed with cancer and the latter had his back when he had to do double duty as temporary mayor of New York while going out there to battle The Hand.

Last but not least the chemistry between Charlie Cox and Elden Henson was great. Not seeing any of them is gonna suck.

Kirsten McDuffie should be in Deadpool 3, played by J-Lo. That movie features a Matt Murdock who has been Daredevil since at least 2003. That makes sense.

But Born Again? Should be all about Karen Page. Have they EVEN read the comic book?
FireandBlood
FireandBlood - 7/24/2023, 3:42 PM
@ObserverIO - This show is no more about Born Again than Age of Ultron was about Age or Ultron. It’s just a meta title, like Homecoming

@PlusUltra - *sigh*

I'll always have the book.

@ObserverIO - I mean Daredevil S3 is a version of Born Again, so if the show is meant to be canon, then i don't think Feige will be redoing the story.

I think they are only using the title Born again in a meta sense as in Daredevil's back, not that they are adapting the story.

Foggy Nelson & Karen Page are essential to Daredevil. Period.

They were played very well by the 2 actors on Netflix. There is only one reason why they are being dumped, and everyone knows what it is.

The pu$$ies at Disney & in Hollyweird will never admit it though it will be very obvious.

I’m honestly concerned about this show.
My expectations are in the crapper currently.

So Daredevil Born Again isn’t actually based off the Daredevil Born Again comic story? Typical Disney/Marvel take a popular comic books storyline name and then create something that’s nothing like the original story. 🤦‍♂️🥱😴

eagc1995 - 7/24/2023, 4:38 PM
@AnthonyVonGeek - I mean they already did Born Again in Season 3. they may be using the title as meaning Daredevil is back! not that they are doing the story.

@eagc1995 - Daredevil Season 3 is not a suitable adaptation of Born Again. It's vaguely similar to the premise, that's all. Jessica Jones season 2 adapts more from the book than Daredevil season 3.

Born Again remains unadapted.

Im cool with them switching up side characters. Im not looking for a Daredevil season 4. Im looking forward to a new Daredevil take on the character in the MCU.

"while it's a shame to see Foggy sidelined, the friendship is one that only has so much mileage. "

AH yes, the friendship that has been going on pretty much during the character's whole publication history sure has only so much mileage.

I feel like even if they brought back Foggy and Karen they probably wouldn’t care to build on their complicated relationships from the Netflix series. So if they’re going to retcon their relationships maybe it’s best to not use those characters for now at least. Assuming they are making this a variant universe to the Netflix show, maybe Ben Urich could be a part of this show. He was great and sadly underused.

It’s going to tank as they are never going to get past the Netflix shows, the only way to have done this is to have picked up where they left off and gradually modified it from there to suit whatever their narrative is now.

The missing location will be the Marvel Universe.

This will be a bastardized rip off piece of shit with a stolen title.

The Russos and crew got away with it with Civil War by basically paraphrasing the title and a stellar cast with a good story.

This will be D+ Factory run off shite.

At least it the Punisher won't be neutered or else Bernthal wouldn't have returned. Right, Bernthal?!?!!

To me, disconnecting Foggy from Murdock is like disconnecting Alfred from Bruce. It seems like change for the sake of change. There's so much things they could explore with Foggy and Matt that you don't need to abandon it completely for it. Should've had Kirsten and Foggy imo.

" It seems like change for the sake of change."

Nah, imnho it's just to make it clear that the Netflix stuff isn't canon without coming and saying it.
