Finn Jones Teases The Possibility Of IRON FIST Donning His Superhero Costume In THE DEFENDERS

With The Defenders set to premiere next month, people are wondering if we will finally get to see Iron Fist in his yellow and green costume. Finn Jones recently teased that there is a chance we might.

Iron Fist debuted on Netflix to mostly mixed reviews. Some of the main complaints about the show was that it felt a bit incomplete, and too open ended. This could have possibly been a creative decision by Marvel, as Finn Jones, who plays Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist, spoke about the ending of Iron Fist leading into The Defenders.

Jones told Den Of Geek, "At the end of Iron Fist, [Danny] doesn't even know what a superhero is. So then to suddenly be interacting with these three... [They] really make him kind of wise up and come to terms with his responsibilities a lot more. From the beginning where we see Danny in Iron Fist to where he ends up in The Defenders, he has made that complete origin arc. He has shed his immature self. The idea is, in The Defenders, he has in a sense become the Iron Fist."

The conversation then turned to if we will ever see Danny put on his iconic Iron Fist costume. “The thing with all of these shows is not that we're shy to bring the costumes,” Jones says. “It's that we want them to feel authentic when it does happen. Danny's on this journey to understanding what his responsibility is. And throughout all of [Iron Fist] season 1, he was in no state of mind to put a suit on. That would've been ridiculous because he was not fully accomplished as the Iron Fist yet and he certainly didn’t have the right or the responsibility to be putting on a superhero costume. He needs to work his shit out. And certainly by the end of The Defenders, it will feel right.”

The Defenders
will premiere on Netflix August 18, 2017.

@hufflepuff69 - I think now that they've teamed up they can do it more often now

@hufflepuff69 - I was hoping they'd cancel Iron Fist and roll him in with Luke Cage to start doing a "Heroes For Hire" series after the Defenders finished but both Cage and Iron Fist are getting 2nd seasons.

The costume is pointless now. Everyone knows who he is. If he has loved ones then they are now in danger because he has no secret identity.

@BlackHulk - I feel like he has no one except for Collen

@BlackHulk - who knows who he is? he wasn't plastered all over the news as a guy going around beating criminals up. the hand knows who he is but then again they always did. if he had gone after a gang and left them in prison then sure, maybe that would make sense but it isn't like everyone knows that danny rand fights crime, he didn;t really do much other than fight the hand.

@BlackHulk - No because now we can get a stunt double to do his action scenes, so we can get some epic fights so i'm hype

He really needs the costume to make it all blend. If DD is the only one in costume for the final fight it will be hella weird.

@Gmoney84 - I dont understand this, hes been fighting in that costume by himself for two seasons how is it weird now?

@hufflepuff69 - Him wearing the costume isn't weird. The fact that he's the ONLY one wearing a costume makes him stick out like a sore thumb. When he's alone, it's fine. But on a team? It just looks out of place. That falls on the people behind the show, not the character himself.
