Vincent D'Onofrio made his official MCU debut as The Kingpin in Hawkeye, taking aim at Eleanor and Kate Bishop after the former dared disobey him. It was clear he holds a lot of power in New York City, with even Clint Barton seemingly afraid of Wilson Fisk's reach.
After escaping an explosive battle with Kate, Kingpin found himself facing off against Maya Lopez. Despite previously being like a daughter to him, she had discovered Fisk's role in her father's death at Ronin's hand and proceeded to gun the villain down.
Similar to his comic book counterpart, we know Fisk somehow survived as he'll return in both Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. Now, the actor has teased how the two shows connect.
"It's like full-on in the last few episodes of [Echo]," D'Onofrio revealed while speaking at Salt Lake FanX. "It's going to be quite something. And that leads into, of course, Born Again."
Charlie Cox will also return as Daredevil in Echo, with rumours swirling he will don a new red and black suit. We've also heard that The Kingpin will be wearing an eyepatch after being shot, though his injury won't stop the villain from embarking on his new mission: to become New York City's new Mayor! That obviously lines up with recent comic book storylines.
An origin story, Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.
Despite recent reports that there may be some issues with the series, Echo is still expected to premiere on Disney+ next summer. Daredevil: Born Again, meanwhile, is set to arrive in late 2024.
