ECHO Star Vincent D'Onofrio Says The HAWKEYE Spin-Off Leads Straight Into DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN

Vincent D'Onofrio made his official MCU debut as The Kingpin in Hawkeye, taking aim at Eleanor and Kate Bishop after the former dared disobey him. It was clear he holds a lot of power in New York City, with even Clint Barton seemingly afraid of Wilson Fisk's reach.

After escaping an explosive battle with Kate, Kingpin found himself facing off against Maya Lopez. Despite previously being like a daughter to him, she had discovered Fisk's role in her father's death at Ronin's hand and proceeded to gun the villain down.

Similar to his comic book counterpart, we know Fisk somehow survived as he'll return in both Echo and Daredevil: Born Again. Now, the actor has teased how the two shows connect.

"It's like full-on in the last few episodes of [Echo]," D'Onofrio revealed while speaking at Salt Lake FanX. "It's going to be quite something. And that leads into, of course, Born Again."

Charlie Cox will also return as Daredevil in Echo, with rumours swirling he will don a new red and black suit. We've also heard that The Kingpin will be wearing an eyepatch after being shot, though his injury won't stop the villain from embarking on his new mission: to become New York City's new Mayor! That obviously lines up with recent comic book storylines.

An origin story, Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behaviour in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

Despite recent reports that there may be some issues with the series, Echo is still expected to premiere on Disney+ next summer. Daredevil: Born Again, meanwhile, is set to arrive in late 2024.

Keep checking back here for updates on both shows.

Looking forward to both projects. I like that we're really establishing the ground level stories!

@Tonic24k - it's exciting
Ground level
The supernatural
Cosmic

Mcu is firing on all cylinders. Doing all the stories all at once. Then they will throw all their toys in battle world sorta, and make em Duke it out.

Just like I used to do as a kid with all my G.I. JOES (with some of my sisters Barbies thrown in the mix)

With the rumours of various street-level heroes making their MCU debut or coming back in Born Again, I do wonder if it is going to be, in a spiritual sense, a stealth Defenders do-over, with a team of street-level characters taking on the Kingpin.

Never thought this show was needed, but, with kingpin and DD in the show... leading to Born Again, now i'm alot more intrigued and kind of slowly getting excited for this...

Sounds like Echo is just being used to reintroduce the Daredevil v Kingpin conflict before Born Again and/or Spider-Man 4. Which is fine, but why focus on Echo at all, if that's the case?

Anyway, my theory about Kingpin is that Daredevil and Vanessa were both "snapped", so Kingpin no longer needed to hold up his end of the bargain by staying in prison. Then, he got a hold of some back alley super-soldier serum so that he could "adapt to a changing world". And by the time everyone came back in Endgame, Kingpin had long moved on from Vanessa and decided the bargain was over. Now, he has his sights set on NYC, rather than just Hell's Kitchen.

@SheepishOne - decent retcon. They should definitely flashback to Fisk taking the serum

I hope Kevin is giving Vincent permission to say these things. Or soon it may be a Marvel sniper shooting him.
