THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER: Here's A First Look At [SPOILER] In Today's Action-Packed Premiere

Today's episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier featured some fun surprises, but something tells us it will be that ending which proves to be the biggest talking point over the next seven days...

Ladies and gentlemen, meet the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Captain America!

Avengers: Endgame ended with Steve Rogers choosing Sam Wilson to wield the shield, but that responsibility proved to be too much for the hero. That's why today's episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier ends with the government choosing someone else entirely to follow in Steve's footsteps.

The character hasn't been officially introduced beyond this scene, but we know that this is, in fact, John Walker. Better known as U.S. Agent in the comic books, it's going to be very interesting to see what he brings to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain America. Will he be as unhinged as his comic book counterpart? Walker ultimately becomes a hero, but operated as a villain for quite a while.

We don't know enough about plans for Wyatt Russell's Cap to guess which direction Marvel Studios is heading in. Sam really didn't seem happy to see that the government had lied to him by removing Steve's shield from the Smithsonian and creating their own, personal Super Soldier, but he turned the role down, so perhaps should have seen this betrayal coming.

That surely doesn't make it sting any less, of course, and the question now is whether Walker can do the legacy of Captain America justice, especially after everything Steve sacrificed while wielding the shield.

Check out this first look at "Captain America" in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier below:

Just finished the episode, loved it to death.

I did love wandavision but I don't think i fell in love with it as much as everyone else.

But this right there was awesome from start to finish.

I'm a bit more interested in bucky's storyline because I find the idea very intriguing but it's definitely more centered on falcon than bucky.

The action at the start was incredible, loved that frenchie, didn't die since i want to see him again in the future.

But oh my days, is falcon just killing people outright. I never thought of it before now but Marvel heroes have a huge kill count and his pet bird just became a mass murderer.

Other than that I can't wait for the rest. Sad that it's only 6 episodes, which is the equivalent of two mcu movies.

Loved it.

Just finished it.

We're living in a day and age TV shows don't look like TV shows anymore. This is movie level stuff. Also, that first action sequence with Falcon was superb.

It's a shame there's only gonna be 6 episodes, but I guess it'll be a tighter story that way. Oh, and it was nice to see Rhodey again. Hope he suits up as War Machine at some point, but I doubt it.

I liked it quite a bit.

Also I always love seeing Switzerland represented in anything

... even though the accents were wonky at best.

Hearing Sam's Falcon theme from Winter Soldier again sent me through the [frick]ing roof.

Great start. Love the character work.

I screamed when I saw Rodey. Honestly I liked the episode especially with Bucky trying to make amends and Sam trying to save his family’s legacy. Light on action but lot of character moments. It’s a great start to the series. Also Ellis is no longer president.

@IcePyke - lol this one would've benefited with a cowl like Steve had in The Avengers. The one that covered the ears.

Looking forward to seeing Wyatt Russell though, I've heard good things.
