HAWKEYE: Check Out Some New Spoiler Stills From Today's Thrilling Penultimate Episode

Today's episode of Hawkeye took us on quite a ride, culminating with the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of a classic comic book villain who could change the very landscape of this shared world.

With only one instalment of the Disney+ series left, there's an awful lot Marvel Studios needs to cram into the finale next Wednesday. That includes actually showing something of that big bad in action, the story behind the Rolex, Clint Barton and Kate Bishop finally freeing themselves from the Tracksuit Mafia's sights, and making Yelena Belova realise that Hawkeye didn't kill her sister.

Oh, and we can't forget the small matter of setting up that upcoming Echo spinoff series!

We're keeping everything crossed that Hawkeye is able to deliver a strong finale after what's proven to be a superb five episodes of television thus far. It's hard to imagine the ball will be dropped now, especially with Rhys Thomas - who helmed the first two - returning to direct. Based on the way the story has played out, though, don't be surprised if things wrap up with a season two announcement. After all, there's clearly a lot more that can be done with this unlikely duo in the MCU.

Take a look at these stills from "Ronin" below:

I like that they didn’t do a complete 180 on Yelena’s snark and sarcasm even though there was some growth from BlackWidow, like she made the usually snarky and witty Kate Bishop look stoic.

@aurorsand146 - The thing that stood out most to be about Yelena here was that this our first time seeing her operate as an actual spy and assassin, but obviously post Natasha's death. You can see how the humor is being used to disarm Kate but also keep her off balance, all while staying true to Yelena's actual personality. It was pretty brilliantly done

@OmegaDaGrodd - Agreed. I’m hoping they dont try to make Yelena into a exact copy of Natasha’s superhero Black Widow.

The opening scene felt like it was from a different show. It was kind of bad. Idk I would’ve expressed what happened to Yelena differently.

Once they got to the rest of the episode, things got damn good. That Ronin versus Maya fight was great. Clint’s mannerisms in the suit were stone cold.

Aside from the fight in Episode 4 the choreography on this one has been rough, especially coming off of Shang Chi

Everything else tho? Spectacular. I have some issues with what they haven't managed to do with the story but that's largely based on me not knowing if they are doing another season of this or just leaving the dangling threads for Echo's show. But overall they've really delivered a story that feels cinematic while keeping things both quirky and heartfelt in execution. Clint feels like he's barely in the show when I think about but when I sit and watch each episode I feel like I get just the right amount of him

@OmegaDaGrodd - it doesn't really bother me, but I do think it's odd how little the past few episodes did to forward the story much. Character-wise the episodes are great though

Although, gotta say I'm a *bit* perplexed by Laura saying she "trusts" Clint's judgement

Man I got the big reveal of today's episode spoiled by freaking Google lol. I'm still excited to watch the EP in the next couple of hours tho, nice to see everything's slowly coming together.

Pretty much my only complaint about this show is the Tracksuit Mafia don't say "bro" enough.

@JstaKIDfrmBKLYN - agreed. Even without it, they're still pretty funny.

And although I'm surprised (but also not) they know, but they do look like the royal tenenbaums
