HAWKEYE Opening Scene Synced With The Same Scene From 2012's THE AVENGERS In New Video

While Clint Barton spent a big chunk of The Avengers under Loki's control, the archer was key in stopping the God of Mischief and his Chitauri army in the movie's final act. He saved a lot of lives that day, but it wasn't until Hawkeye we learned that Kate Bishop was actually among them.

The Disney+ series kicked off by revisiting the events of the 2012 movie from Kate's perspective, confirming that she was inspired to become an archer by seeing Barton in action.

Now, one clever fan has managed to sync up footage from the two Marvel Studios projects so that we see everything play out at the same time. It's really well-done and shows how much thought was put into this Hawkeye flashback without screwing up continuity in any way.

The older the MCU gets, the easier it is to build in this shared world's history; the fact that Kate was just a child when the Battle of New York took place both makes us feel extremely old and emphasises how Marvel Studios can now build on this shared world's history in meaningful ways. Whether Kate will tell Clint about the role he played in her childhood remains to be seen, of course.

I think the Stark Tower had an error in continuity

@GoofBallAbe - yup it did. Someone proved this a few days after the premiere. In the movie, the letters "S," "T," "R," and "K" all fall off Stark Tower's signage throughout the fight. But in Hawkeye, both the "A" and "K" from the building name are still intact.

@TheWalkingCuban - I couldn't stand her but the show missed her.

@GoofBallAbe - I have a theory on that. It's the different perspectives. The avengers saw the S, T, R and K fall off while the rest of the world saw the S, T, R, remain.

@BlackBeltJones - yes strange feeling indeed. This is my second time watching it but truth is, I stopped the first time in the season after her death. It just kinda got lockjaw, like come on man, stop giving Gemma keys, she will snoop through everything in the house. And Juice with the black dad as motivation to rat… I quit watching. Couple years later a friend told me to finish it so restarted this summer. Got to that part again and immediately watched 5 or 6 shows, then got back to where I left off.

Almost done with S6 and Gemma is a million times worse

@TheWalkingCuban - Gemma became insufferable. Every terrible thing that has happened in the show, she has had a hand in somehow. Her first scene in the show let me know everything I needed to and she hasn't deviated much from that. She handed a junkie a syringe and told her to kill herself.

@BlackBeltJones - reminds me of my manager before covid humbled her, my friend that told me to finish it is a girl that hates working with girls, says they’re all triflin’

Clay and Jax ain’t turn out to be no better

man this scene reminds me why I was such a Hawkeye fan as a kid.
Just like Green Arrow he's just a guy with bow/arrow that still holds his own against supernatural/extraterrestrial/superpowered forces.

A human among gods that has nothing but wit & skill

Luckily Kate was watching the same time we were.

You know, watching the episodes again and seeing the scene with the costume heroes and one of them being katniss reminded me of the main issue with Hawkeye, or more specifically the handling of Hawkeye in the mcu. We really needed some more of Hawkeye working on his own. Other archer characters like katniss and green arrow have been shown to be both beloved and bada$$ in their own rights, so it's not like an archer character like this can't work in modern times. But we get introduced to in a movie about arguably the most powerful superhero in this universe, then thrown into the big team up with little indication he's on the same level as the other heroes. Of course he's gonna look weak compared to Thor and the hulk. Really feel like we're finally getting some justice for the character here.

I'm sure its been pointed out already, but the timing of this scene in Hawkeye compared to how far into the battle it happened in Avengers was a bit glaring. Otherwise a cool recreation

@Kurne - Natasha even said in Endgame, that the battle was „About, uh, two or three hours [long]“.

Didnt seem to be anywhere near as in sync as Man of Steel / BvS

@MadMallo - what if they made it at the same time, and it was just cutting room floor edits with new footage of Affleck digitally cut in? Lol idk..

I liked the scene but she was in a very central NYC area for not feeling any tremor or hearing anything way before that.

But that's nitpicking, I understand the needed pacing and timing for that.

Was wondering if it matched up and I was sure I wasn't the only the one, so it was only a matter of time. Guess my suspicion was right

Thought it was a really solid premiere. Story still needs to pick up and meanders at times but I love the leads together and the street level threat is fun. Also I like how it is approaching the fame of the avengers job from the perspective of a relatively normal and down to earth guy like Hawkeye

Don't hate me but I feel like they would have never thought of doing this if it weren't for Batman v Superman.

This as well:

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Avatar did it more recently and arguably more famously. Hell even Thor Ragnarok did it.

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - Kevin has admitted that they have used one or more idea from Warner/DC. I think both studios do this with each other. If something works, why not try it yourself?

Did anyone else notice there were no arrows in Hawkeye's quiver and then suddenly there was a "grappling hook" arrow in there when he jumped? The parts may be synched up correctly, but that is a definite miss on the editing.
