We've known that Florence Pugh was set to reprise her Black Widow role as Yelena Belova in Marvel's Hawkeye for a while now, and after this recent teaser, most of us correctly assumed she'd show up in today's new episode.
Belova did indeed turn out to be the mysterious masked figure targeting Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) towards the end of "Partners, Am I right?," but it's hard to blame her after Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) told her that the archer was responsible for Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) death in Black Widow's post-credits scene. Clint didn't get the chance to explain what really happened, but something tells us the MCU's new Widow may not have been willing to listen, anyway.
We're sure another confrontation is coming at some point during the last two episodes, but for now, Pugh has broken her silence on Yelena's appearance in today's episode while sharing a couple of images to Instagram with the caption: "She's here."
Next Wednesday's episode of Hawkeye is expected to "break the internet," but we don't think that has anything to do with Yelena, as Vincent D'Onofrio is heavily rumored to return as Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin.
