We were hoping Hawkeye might get one final character poster today featuring Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin, but as of right now, there's no sign of it. That could change in the weeks to come, of course, but Disney+ is now likely to shift its focus to hyping up The Book of Boba Fett.
On the plus side, there are some new stills from the Hawkeye season finale - titled "So This Is Christmas?" - highlighting a handful of key moments. They include Echo's new look, the aftermath of the exciting final battle, and a great shot of "Swordsman" in action. Fans are already hoping we haven't seen the last of Jack Duquesne, especially now he's expressed an interest in LARPing.
During a recent chat with Variety, this episode's director, Rhys Thomas, admitted that he didn't know Spider-Man: No Way Home would reference Hawkeye with those Rogers: The Musical signs.
"The Kingpin of it all was not on the cusp when I started the show, but I feel like his presence was never far," Thomas said of how Wilson Fisk's introduction came to be. "Like, we were always circling this other 'big bad guy,' but there was a moment when a Marvel executive came over and said, 'You know, this is what we’re gonna do about that.' As far as a larger plan and a crossover with Spider-Man: No Way Home, I did not know that they would do that."
"They do a wonderful job at Marvel of keeping everybody quite siloed, and I think they do this for your own security," the filmmaker continued. "People seem to sort of assume that there is this room where everything is all mapped out, but, no, they keep you kind of focused on your own show and only give you the information that they feel they need to give."
