HAWKEYE Star Vincent D'Onofrio Shares Hopes To Return In ECHO And Weighs In On THAT Final Scene

Daredevil and Hawkeye star Vincent D'Onofrio has talked more about returning as Wilson Fisk, revealing his hopes to appear in Echo while breaking down the villain's final scene in the Disney+ series...

Vincent D'Onofrio made his long-awaited return as Kingpin in the penultimate episode of Hawkeye before taking centre stage in the season finale. However, Wilson Fisk's story seemingly reached an abrupt end when he was gunned down by Maya Lopez after she learned he was responsible for her father's murder.

In the comic books, Fisk survived that gunshot, losing his sight for a time before setting out to take revenge on both Echo and Daredevil. The former is getting her own Disney+ series, and it sounds like D'Onofrio is excited to possibly explore the fallout of Kingpin's clash with Maya.

"I think it would be great. I remember the comic run," he tells Collider"It was one of my favorites, the father-daughter relationship between Maya and him, and I would love the opportunity to do that."

The site then outright asked D'Onofrio if Marvel Studios told him about future plans for Kingpin when he was enlisted to star in Hawkeye, and as you might expect, he was giving nothing away. "I can comment personally. I can't comment about any fact because they just don't tell me," he admitted. "So, it made me hope that it would continue and it still makes me feel that way."

"I mean in my mind, she definitely shot him. And, I walked away from Daredevil, at first I thought, 'Maybe he'll come back somehow.' And then very quickly after that, I thought I was walking away for good. So I had always hoped because of the fans wanting him back and everybody, I'd hope that I would come back. So I feel the same way now."

There's already been something of an outcry from fans, who clearly want more of this Kingpin in the MCU, so something tells us the villain will have a role to play in Echo. After all, Charlie Cox has officially returned as Matt Murdock, and Daredevil being reunited with his greatest foe is a must, especially if the Man Without Fear crosses paths with Maya.

You don't need to be Hawkeye to see that he'll be back in Echo.

Given that it hasn't been leaked, rumoured or whatever that he is gonna be in She-Hulk, I guess he'll show up in Echo next. Given that that's also what's he's talking about (cool to see him so invested in the character).

Good. Now give him solid screen time. No more twist villains. They have been the center of every Disney+ show so far. They are missing the advantage of series over movies is focusing more on the villains.

The Kingpin has come to the MCU...to fight little girls.

Yeah, having him go down like that soured the show for me. Hawkeye was great up until the scene where he gets up, only to get instantly shot after just coming back. His whole role in the finale was anticlimactic and didn't live up to the fact that even Hawkeye (Clint Barton) didn't want to have to deal with him.

Maybe I missed it, but did they ever actually say what kind of illegal business/operation Kingpin and the Tracksuit Mafia are involved in? I feel like it was never specifically mentioned. Something with used cars i assume?

Hated everything about this incarnation of the Kingpin, from the pimp clothes to being super powered. If this is what the MCU plan to do with the great groundwork laid by the netflix version I'd rather he stayed dead.

The clothes were from straight from the comics and giving him more comic-accurate strength makes sense for the tone of the MCU.

However, I 100% agree with you that the finale did him dirty. Even if you haven't seen Daredevil (everyone should), Kingpin didn't live up to the build-up from this show alone. That was borderline embarrassing, the way they ended his arc.

It'd be ridiculous if he didn't return. All this setup and confusion as to if Netflix shows are connected just to kill him off? You were way better off just making it a different character if that were the case like Big Man or the Slug or some other random D-List crime boss.
