Clark Gregg Thinks That Marvel's INHUMANS "Will Be Its Own Cinematic Version"

In a recent interview with Digital Spy, Agents of SHIELD star Clark Gregg spoke on Marvel's 2019 Inhumans film, and revealed that he doesn't think the show and the film will crossover. "The Inhumans movie I suspect will be its own cinematic version," Gregg said. "That writer and director will have free reign to do what they want to do with the Inhumans. But hopefully there'll be some way that our Inhumans connect to that. It'd be too bad if that was wasted." That would indeed be pretty harsh if Marvel decided not to tie-in some of the events of Agents of Shield into the film. Even so, Gregg then told went on to say how the show isn't depending on the film to reference them, instead they're focusing on the their own thing. "What's kind of necessary for the show to work is that it is its own thing and it's not dependant upon those crossovers. They're just fun stuff that happens once in a while." He then added, "They destroy the organisation our show is named after and we have to deal with that! I'll be interested to see how it evolves, that crossover stuff."

That was expected. But I would like Quake to be in the Inhumans movie as connective tissue.

No shit Gregg lol. But seriously. Who needs a Major tie in between Inhumans movie and Agents of Shield? Attilan and the royal family could very easily be the "Myth" that Shield never finds because their society is just too well hidden. It can even be referenced in the movie how there are some "Lost Inhumans" outside of Atillan (Referencing people like Daisy ect). They don't ever have to meet but dumb ass trolls will obviously use this as a excuse to say "Shield is not even connected to the mcu" and whole bunch of nonsense lmao

Seeing as Quake isn't a part of the Royal family, let alone not even an inhuman in the comics, I doubt it.

Hopefully Jeph Loeb and Marvel/ABC get liberated from the creative commitee as well.

Quake & Mockingbird are the only ones I'd like to see crossover to the silver screen. And maybe HiveWard.

I doubt the shows will ever crossover anytime soon.....but with the impending InHumans movie you would think they would connect the two mediums.

This is why I'm not a fan of TV/movie crossovers. The show is a continuation of the the first Avengers film, right? Haven't kept up with the show but I remember Sam Jackson/Nick Fury making an appearance. So that means the cinematic version of Nick Fury exists in the TV universe. I'm assuming other characters from the movie exists in the TV universe too. But the Inhumans film would be it's own cinematic universe? Sh*t gets confusing.

I think after Civil War, SHIELD will return and be reborn into a U.N.faction; a lot like how it was in the old Steranko days as well as Nick Fury's Secret War arc.

"The first dismantling of S.H.I.E.L.D. occurred in the wake of a wide-scale infiltration of the agency, again involving LMDs. In this case, a group of LMDs attained sentience, infiltrating both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra, replacing key members of both before being defeated by Fury and an impromptu force of allies."

"The reorganized S.H.I.E.L.D. was backed by the United Nations, with the acronym now standing for 'Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage and Logistics Directorate"

I think after Civil War, the U.N. will desire to reform SHIELD and make it TRULY the organization to oversee the heroes. I think The Accords will transform into a new SHIELD. I think Tony may become the new director. This would only reinforce the new path the Russos have him taking as a supporter of the govt and being regulated. The world may need SHIELD once again when Infinity War begins.

I want this show off, really. Doesn't really add anything, just costly. They should focus on making more quality shows like Agent Carter and the Netflix series.

Sounds dumb.

People wonder why I give this show a hard time.

@YeezusWept They actually retconned Quake to be an Inhuman in the comics

It would be awesome if A.O.S would be mentioned in the movies, but I don't think we'll ever see a crossover in any of the movies unfortunately. I still like the show for what it is though.

I am actually ok and wanted the Movie Inhumans being their own universe, with certain small drops that hints the existence of the Inhumans they have introduced.

And honestly AoS baring minimum connection or AoS being the directly affected party has been a boon, a blessing to this show. The past of this show clearly states that the moderate crossovers hasn't helped AoS. That Asguardian guy did hinted their existence too.

And too much depended on MCU and references, no matter if they did it right or wrong, is what made many people hated AoS right?

This is of course assuming that Agents of SHIELD is still on the air and relevant in 3 and a half years time when Inhumans comes out.

Of course it's going to be it's own thing, and of course it's going to tie in to AoS. The movie is 3 years away. By the time it's released we will have(hopefully) had 6 seasons of Agents of Shield, with INHUMANS being introduced in, as well as a pretty big part of the show. No way Marvel is going to name a film after a pretty big plot point in a fairly popular T.V. show and not tie them together somehow. I'm not a big fan of DC/WB having separate universes for their Movie and T.V. characters, but it works because they're consistent with it. Everything at Marvel; movie, T.V., Netflix, it's all connected. It would be just weird, and a huge mistake, if they didn't connect INHUMANS to AoS.

At the same time, they're also not going to turn the INHUMANS movie into a 2 hour episode of AoS.

olol mate, Agents of SHIELD is nowhere near Agent Carter as for as production design, acting and writing goes, sadly.

Can't wait for Carter to kick ass again. (:

@clogan: I disagree. Writing is one of the major plus. But can't convince you since you look.like you are stubborn, and haven't watched it since S1.

Unfortunately, the Netflix series aren't crossing over anytime soon either, so they're technically in the same "TV universe" boat. They can't even show the Stark tower nor refer to the Avengers members by name.

If Feige didn't want them touching the Inhumans, there would be no inhumans in AoS. Period.
